RBP3 [SPOILERS] Team Nice Shot - Pacal of Carthage

By the way, I will be out of town this coming weekend. Will you be able to play the turns? It looks like I will be with internet but without Civ from early Friday morning until early Monday morning.

I will unfortunately be out of town from about midday Sunday through Monday evening. Perhaps we should look for a lurker who could play some prearranged moves in case that would make me miss a turn (depending on when the turns rolls over, it may or may not mean missing a turn).

I doubt that would be a problem, since I am likely to be home before any turn would end in that timeframe. Just in case, though, is there any lurker out there who would be willing to cover for us if the need were to arise this weekend?

From what I can tell that I've read, it seems like the post-CAN alliance has really started to take shape with a strong 6. I would rather keep it to the 6 of us... even if it means we're on the short side of the stick numbers-wise. If we were to choose one more team to keep on board, I would think the Ottomans would be the ones to bring along. What do you think?

Ottomans would depend on the time frame. If they would be on board for anything longer than say t115 or 120, I would be opposed. To be completely honest, we need to eliminate a neighbor at some point to be a factor in the game, and it looks like the Ottomans are probably the most likely. If there were any way to float it, HRE could actually be an interesting choice. They are the only non-alliance with any teching ability, and we could easily 2v1 the ottos. Realistically though, I think it will stay at 6.

The only thing I'm really nervous about is if the Ottomans attack exactly on t100. I think if they give us room even to say t110, we'll have an insurmountable military tech advantage.

T80 played...

*Krill got his GP this turn.
*Barb warriors defeated north and south of Boring
*NCs rock against warriors smile
*LWood double whipped on the NC to overflow into Library. NC to head north and get superior map information of Ottoman lands.
*Centralia double whipped this turn, a turn ahead of schedule. That will allow it to put max overflow into a stable.
*Boring should be whipp-able next turn for the Blue Dot settler.
*Keep one worker at Boring to chop out 1-2 more settlers. With currency coming in we will be able to afford it.
*Move the other worker of the Bill/Lawrence pair to get Blue Dot set up.

Not really sure what whipping this turn at Centralia did. The previous whipping penalty was only 1 turn from wearing off, so I would probably have just waited for that.

By the way, what do you think about having Bill move W-SW next turn to chop. I think that chop should probably go into a worker (after we whip the settler in 2 turns once the whip anger is subsided). I think Lawrence should move SW and road to get the settler founded as quickly as possible.

We were at 19/50 on the barracks, so whipping this turn was our last chance to 2-pop whip the barracks. Unless we switched build to something else this turn, then 2-pop whipped next turn after the penalty had worn off. However, considering that we are so very far from the happy cap (and about to be even further with HR soon), I didn't think the downside of whipping would outweigh the upside of having a barracks ready "just in case" one turn sooner.

My first instinct was to chop settler, but I have complained of too few workers, so I'd say that sounds like a good idea. How about chop the next few forests into worker-settler-worker?

I assume you mean settler (currently being built) - worker- settler - worker?
