RBP3 [SPOILERS] Team Nice Shot - Pacal of Carthage

Before we log in, we should compose a note to India, as they said they have requested Construction in game.

I agree with prechopping with Warren, don't see a need to road them necessarily (we'll see what the turns savings will look like).

Oh pity you, missing two turns of anarchy lol:neenernee

Oh, and check out the chats.

Looks like we are on at the same time. Let me know what draft you come up with/moves in game (before you end turn, could you allow me a chance to log in? I haven't yet today).

Okay, good to see you are on...

Quote:Good evening,

We're pleased to hear that you have started digging out of your hole. After watching your war from the outsider's perspective, I can personally say that I have rooted for you in the conflict from the beginning.

However, we don't feel that it is wise to be handing out an important tech like Construction at this phase of the game, when doing so would only give a greater discount to whichever CANT team is researching it. So at this point we are only sending it to those teams that (a)we have a debt to repay or (b)the tech would speed the destruction of CANT (ie England finishing up France).

We look forward to finishing our Aesthetics-Math trade in the 6-7 turn timeline you have outlined. Do you plan on pursuing Literature next? I suppose Lit-Construction could have a good ring to it depending on how you feel.

Anyway, I should get back to playing the game, since we have already earned Krill's "last to play" demerit for this turn. wink

I also sent the Ottoman note since it was relatively easier:

Quote:Good evening,

We noticed that you requested Construction in game. We do not mean to withhold construction but at this time we are only sending out the tech to teams that (a) we have a debt to repay or (b) need the tech for war purposes (ie England against France).

We forget, though... what tech are you researching for this round of trades, and when do you expect it to come in?

...And I'm back out of game, so feel free to be the one to end turn, that's all that there is left to do for this turn.. unless you want to take a screenshot for our lurker(s) or posterity. wink

And regarding the diplo from the day, it sounds like PAT (see the sidebar at the bottom) will include Portugal, and maybe Rome. I would not be a fan of any more than that. After all, the point of an alliance shakeup is to create ever smaller alliances, and eliminating just a couple teams doesn't count. Better to take it down to 50% or 50%+1 each time until you are down to the final 2...

Sidebar (bottombar?):
The main reason I like Pat is that Pat is the character in Hop on Pop that sits. As in:

Pat, Pat, they call him Pat.
Pat sat, Pat sat on hat.
Pat sat, Pat sat on cat.
Pat sat, Pat sat on bat.
NO PAT NO! Don't sit on THAT! smile My daughter loves that part.

(For the lurkers: this is in relation to an email from India requesting Construction, which we, of course, do not plan to give them).

My first reaction is that they are going to see right through the CANT argument, as none of CANT even has math to begin researching Construction. I think we could perhaps just take a tack more similar to the Ottoman message (which looks fine, by the way). Obviously, the hard part here is telling them we won't be gifting it, but at the same time getting Aesthetics for math. I like the message for the most part, except for the sentence beginning with "However".

Here's how I would put it:

Still feels slightly off, but I can't figure out quite what.

I made only 1 change in game. I switched Boring from a fur to the copper mine. That gets the worker out in one turn instead of two (just in time for the anarchy). I think we should probably work the copper first to regrow more quickly, at least until we turn on research again.

If that sounds good, I'll end turn (and hey, you'll actually get two turns in tonight)

By the way, I think the chariot near St. Paul should move back that way for barb duty. I think the NC north of Lakewood should also stay put (literally on the tile it is on) for barb duty.
