[spoilers]The Courts of Chaos: Thoth disrupts the Pattern

Turn pace stayed good thanks to Yuri playing in the wee small hours of the morning so I could play before heading out for work this morning.  goodjob

I'm currently sitting on 9 pop (and zero whips) 8 of whom are producing stuff, the other is unhappy.

Pindicator has 7 pop and made a single 1 pop whip on t5
Commodore has 5 pop and made a 2 pop whip after ending turn on t10.
Yuris has 5 pop and has made 1 single pop whip on t10
Krill  has 3! pop and made a single 1 pop whip on t58.  Timing is right for a forest chop and whip into a worker or possibly a double chop + whip into a settler.  No sign of a 3rd city yet if it was a settler.
I'm making a 3 pop whip next turn and am  planning a 2 pop whip t18 in Courts.

Demos:

Cities:

Kolvir:

Settler gets 3 pop whipped next turn (t13).  t14 I revolt to Judaism.  t15 take the overflow into the temple.  t16 finish warrior (needed to prevent unhappiness), t17 temple build continues.  Due to complete eot 19 with the help of 1 Math and OR boosted chop.

Courts of Chaos:

The Stone quarry finishes next turn.

Another turn done.

That's 3 today.  smile

A CRACK of the whip produced this at end of turn..

2 pop whips from Pindicator and from Commodore (or two 1 pop whips in quick succession)  after their turn may well be settlers of their own incoming t14.

Where's a whip, there's a way ?

At this point in the game # of pop whipped is a decent metric for how many hammers have been produced.

Hmmmmm.....rival best soldier count has spiked up to 47k  (I'm at 33k with 7 pop, 1 archer, and two scouts).  Looks like someone is building military.....or Pindicator's tech was Iron Working.......that seems well within the realm of possibility.

I'm starting to suspect that I'm isolated on my piece of desert.

T18 played.

Settled my 1st expansion city last turn (as did Pindicator).  Currently building a work boat for a future city.  Whipped out a worker from Courts of Chaos with a nice pile of overflow towards the granary.

Ending turn completed Mathematics.  I've got two chops completing next turn to finish up the temple in Kolvir and the granary in Courts.

Kolvir will be grown to size 7 building a warrior or archer and will then 3 whip another settler to settle west for Sheep, Clams, and second ring Fish.

Tech for Yuri last turn.  I'm assuming Math.

There is more land to my south past a narrow chokepoint in the jungle.  I'm bringing my southern scout back up north for the moment as I still have a lot of close in land to scout and I'd like to get a chunk of land spawnbusted asap.    But as always, the best barb spawnbusters are cities with popped borders.  I've found another island to my east but it is a long way away so I'm currently planning on two cities on the northern island, exact locations tbd after getting a boat built and some scouting done overseas.

(all screenshots taken after ending turn 19)

My south:

Northern chunk of my continent:

Cities:

Kolvir will swap to a settler t21 to whip on t22.  Settle west for Clams/sheep on t25 just as the workboat from Arden is ready to net the clams.

Courts of Chaos will grow to size 4 and 2 pop whip a settler with the aid of another chop.

Arden is building a WB and then a chop assisted worker and granary.

T20 done and we all got our land points.

Looks like Yuri is inland with Krill, Commodore, and Pindicator all coastal.

Techs so far:

Pindicator: Iron Working
Commodore, Yuri, Thoth:  Mathematics
Krill:  Still working on Monarchy

Ending turn produced a nice event:

I made a slight mistake in worker micro and won't have the road I need for speedy settling available until t24 so I'm going to put t21 and t22 into the settler before 3 pop whipping it.  The overflow should give me a 1t Expansive worker eot 24 so it's not an issue even if next city is 1t later than planned.

Fog gazing at the northern island suggests that there is a line of ice and 3 peaks on the other side of the visible land.  I can go with 1 decent city or 2 weak cities.  The main reason for these cities to exist is the overseas trade routes for my other cities so I'm fine with 2 weak cities if needed.

One of the best events I think.

I'm happy to see it. It's great to have if I need to wage war in the middle ages or capture archer held barb cities. If there's land south of the chokepoint that isn't already human occupied, it will be filling up with barb cities long before I can settle it. Swordsmen will likely be my 2nd wave of expansion one I'm out of rexxing room.
