1. Diplo? No talking
2. Leader/civ selection? Snake pick
3. Choose leaders/civs after seeing starts/settings? Yes
4. Ban on building spy units? *shrugs*
5. Speed? Normal (not used to the speed of Quick at all)
The following options are quite intertwined as difficulty affects barbs and the relative strength of traits:
6. Difficulty? Monarch-Emperor
7. Barbarians? Yes (normal) IF Monarch, no IF Emperor
8. Trait bans? FIN
9. Civ bans? India and Inca
10. Other bans?
Here is a list of things that are sometimes banned:
* War Elephants Ban
* Using the "blockade" action on ships Ban
* Moving great spies outside your borders and using infiltrate ability Ban
* Nukes Ban
* Corporations Allow
* Great Lighthouse Allow
11. Other unusual settings?
Here is a list of things that could be enabled, but usually aren't:
* Huts No
* Random events No
* Vassal States Whats the point? ... if there's no AIs then ...

My preferences:
1. Diplo? No talking
2. Leader/civ selection? Snake pick
3. Choose leaders/civs after seeing starts/settings? Yes
4. Ban on building spy units? Yes. No active espionage. That includes Great Spies. I think they have to be settled/Scotland Yarded only.
5. Speed? Quick, but I wouldn't mind playing on normal.
The following options are quite intertwined as difficulty affects barbs and the relative strength of traits:
6. Difficulty? Monarch is good enough
7. Barbarians? No. No talking will lead to enough fighting already and barbs can imbalance the game.
8. Trait bans? FIN and Suryavarman for sure. I would be happy with a longer list of bans (like CRE, EXP and FIN), but I don't think people will like, so I'm fine without them.
9. Civ bans? India and Inca
10. Other bans? YES!
What I want banned for sure (I'm probably forgetting things too):
* War Elephants
* Blockades
* Nukes
* Corporations
11. Other unusual settings? I don't want any of the settings below turned on.
* Huts
* Random events
* Vassal States
* Permanent Alliances

Ichabod: advantage of barbarians is that whether you want military or not is less dependent on what your neighbors do. Note that pbem18 had barbarians on, and I don't think it was imbalancing.
I will compile a list of what people want so far shortly.

1. Diplo? No talking
2. Leader/civ selection? Snake pick
3. Choose leaders/civs after seeing starts/settings? Yes
4. Ban on building spy units? Yes
5. Speed? 2 Quick, 0.7 Normal (Sian and Ichabod together), 1 no preference stated, 1 not yet voted - this is probably quick
The following options are quite intertwined as difficulty affects barbs and the relative strength of traits:
6. Difficulty? 2 Monarch, 1 Immortal, 1 "not immortal" - this is probably monarch
7. Barbarians? 1 yes, 2 ambivalent, 1 conflicted - still unclear but it won't be Raging
8. Trait bans? Better wait for diffilculty to be clearer, and for other players' opinions
9. Civ bans? India and Inca
10. Other bans?
2 War Elephants
1 Using the "blockade" action on ships
2 Moving great spies outside your borders and using infiltrate ability
2 Nukes
0.5 Corporations
I expect we'll we'll end up banning the ones that have 2 votes right now
11. Other unusual settings? No

I will be my own team and maybe pick up some lurkers or teammates later in the process. So count me as team 6!
1. Diplo? No talking seems to be the consensus though I wouldn't mind either
2. Leader/civ selection? Snake pick
3. Choose leaders/civs after seeing starts/settings? Yes
4. Ban on building spy units? Yes
5. Speed? Quick or Normal, whichever is prefered
The following options are quite intertwined as difficulty affects barbs and the relative strength of traits:
6. Difficulty? Monarch or Immortal are fine
7. Barbarians? Yes (normal)
8. Trait bans? None
9. Civ bans? None
10. Other bans? War Elephants, Blockade, Great Spies out of borders, the rest is late game and should be used if people take the time to get them
Here is a list of things that are sometimes banned:
* War Elephants
* Using the "blockade" action on ships
* Moving great spies outside your borders and using infiltrate ability
* Nukes
* Corporations
* Great Lighthouse
11. Other unusual settings? None of those

4. Ban on building spy units? Yes
5. Speed? Quick

10. Other bans?
All of these:
* Moving great spies outside your borders and using infiltrate ability
* Nukes
* Corporations

Generally I'm not fussed on the settings being voted on. However, I am against ship blockading since it is so disproportionate. Supremacy of the seas translates to pillaging fishing nets, stopping using key sea tiles and keeping units trapped on land - I don't think blockading is needed in addition, especially when a basic unit can block so many squares.
I think War Elephants should be allowed BUT only after a certain point. Construction is too early, but if we can find a good tech later than I think they should be buildable. Mounted units (Knights, Cuirassiers, Cataphracts, Conquistadors) are arguably too powerful later on without them.
Nukes off definitely. I'd favour Corporations off too. And no spies also.
And on the sixth day, god created Manchester.

We have a good number of people already put in their feedback, I think tally up the totals by the end of the night and we can get this thing started over the weekend? Don't need to just let it drag on if we are mostly there.
What sort of turn order are we doing so that we can get in at least one round a day? I am able to play in the evenings GMT -5 time, so lets put together a list of everyone's available time.
And should we pass around a test game just to make sure all of the emails and such work?
