Werewolf 7 game thread

zakalwe Wrote:This, in a nutshell. I'll withhold my mayor vote until I have some stronger innocent reads. I'm obviously willing to run myself, if others support it. Anyway, the most important qualification for being mayor isn't good judgment, it's innocence. (Good judgment would be a nice bonus, though.)

I agree with Zakalwe, Meiz and Serdoa. With this setup, the wolves have a lot to gain by being the mayor and not so much to lose too (compared to rpevious games). We don't have a seer, so the only "better vigillance" that the mayor can have is by reading the thread or analyzing votes, which we do with every other player too.

But if a wolf is elected mayor, they could get in a pretty good situation. If we end up in a situation where we have 5 players left, 3 villagers and 2 wolves, and one of them is the wolf double-voter, the wolves already won the game, since there isn't a way of impeachment that is not lynching the player who is mayor. So, if we don't lynch the double voter, there's a chance of losing the game with one less mislynch.

So the mayor vote is way more important than last games, in my opinion. And I agree with Zak that choosing an innocent is better then choosing someone with good judgement that is still suspicious.

So, when I think about it, the best options for an early mayor vote seem to be the players that I have already see playing as wolf and villager, because we have standards to compare them too. I was actually thinking about voting for Lewwyn, because he has a very "passionate" style when playing the game, which seems hard to fake when not playing a villager, but I have never seen a wolf Lewwyn and this kind of worries me.

By using the logic I explained above, good votes for mayor would be Zakalwe, Gaspar, scooter and uberfish, becuase I've already seen them playing wolf and villager. Uberfish (especially after his comment in the thread) is too hard to read, wether he's a villager or a wolf, so I don't like this option. So, Zakalwe, Gaspar and scooter are the options.

From these, the one that seems to have the biggest differences between villager and wolf personas is scooter. After seeing (even though I was in the sidelines) him play in WW6, it seemed pretty obvious that he was a villager, since it was so different from his wolf games. So, he has a pretty high standard to folllow in this game as a villager, making it easier for us to identify if he's a wolf.

But, since scooter is yet to check into the game thread, it's better if I hold the vote for now. Like I said, I wouldn't mind having zak or Gaspar as mayor, but I think they are harder to read than scooter. Like Zak, said, the best option would be to vote for an innocent, but since we don't have any confirmed innocents yet, voting for someone easy to read might be an option.

Mardoc Wrote:1x Devil (limited information, results are either Villager or Special)
1x Void Wolf (same as usual)
1x Double voter (may secretly cast an extra vote for the same target
1x Normal Wolf

vs

1x 1-shot Vigilante
1x Role Blocker
1x Baner
9x Villager

These are the roles according to Mardoc's thread. He forgot to add one role, since we have 17 players, not 16. Maybe he added a possessed as the last role (albeit I really doubt Mardoc would have done it), to balance things for the wolves? It's the only reasonable explanation I can think off for Uberfish's behaviour... And it's a bad one...

Catwalk Wrote:Roland, we could agree to lynch uberfish and then keep discussing other suspects anyway. I think there are very strong reasons to lynch uberfish, won't keep us from putting the rest of the day to good/bad/no use.

An alternative would be to agree on having Uberfish vig-killed, so we could proceed with a "regular" lynch today. Though there's a slight chance that the vigilante could get roleblocked (two roleblockers in play, so it's not actually that unlikely), or disagree with the consensus.

I'm not sure whether or not this would be a good use of the vig kill, just putting it out there.
If you know what I mean.

About my mayor vote post, there's also Rowain who already played as a wolf and villager and could be an option.

zakalwe Wrote:@Meiz. You posted a full half hour after Uberfish made his post, without commenting on it at all. Why did you just ignore his post?

I thought of it as a starting joke related for him always being a wolf, and waited for explanation.

I have a few thoughts to share when I get home tonight, but I also wanted to interact with the Euros.

Uber's post seems really out of character for him - I wouldn't expect him to ragequit, but he is likely to try gambits. I'm not sure what he's aiming at here to be honest.

In the meantime, I'd suggest looking at other candidates because we have a lot of time left - as a wolf, I'd love the chance to hide behind this all day 1 especially with no seer.

Scooter- why so quiet?
I've got some dirt on my shoulder, can you brush it off for me?

Checking in fashionably late. I actually went to check in last night but the forums were down, so I said forget it and went to bed. So here I am.

First off, whoa whoa, everyone chill on the uberfish thing. I got a good laugh out of it when I read it, and I scrolled down to see people voting for him based on it? What? That post is pretty typical for his type of humor, and uberfish has at least proven himself as not the type of person to quit childishly like that, so I'm pretty inclined to take it as a joke and move on.

Anyways. So last game I ran for mayor, got elected, and was promptly killed by the wolves frown. So I'm going to try to run again. As for why - someone said it best earlier in this thread - I have a history of being fairly readable. I've played werewolf twice and was heavily suspected in both of those, and last game I was nearly unanimously agreed to be a villager in just one day before I was promptly killed by the WW's. So with no seer, it seems best to have a mayor that is fairly readable at the very least. I have nothing to hide, so I'll put my name forward again. So for now, I'll vote scooter. There's a few other people I'd be fine with voting for as well, so I'll swap to someone else if there's no real interest in me being mayor.

zakalwe Wrote:Sareln, what is the reasoning behind voting for a randomly selected mayor candidate?

The same reason behind voting randomly for lynch on the first post. I decided to give both votes randomly w/out considering the new importance of the mayor in this setup. So a bad reason. lol

No Vote

I'm not sure what to make of Uberfish's post, but am not too proud to take free kills. In the meantime though, I want to shake the tree a little and see what Scooter has to say.

Well uberfish's post throws a spanner in the works.

I just do not understand how he could be anything other than a wolf. Why would a villager ever post something that would so clearly draw a lynch vote to them?

It makes zero tactical sense in any way. Even if he was a villager, contributions such as that are harmful to the village as a whole and would almost be a worthwhile mislynch!

After spending most of the day away, even with my favouring a post limit, i'm not sure whether to be happy that I have only had to catch up with a couple of pages of text.
