That was going to be my quiz to the class come T40 to see who was reading this thread
But any way you mentioned above works. I mean, Stonehenge on quick speed is 80 hammers. Stone + Industrious makes that a virtual 32 hammers. By comparison galleys cost 33 hammers. It's basically "How do I want to one-turn it?" If it's available, that is. And if it isn't, then oh well.
Oh, I guess you're asking how am I planning on doing it, rather than how is it possible? Well, I hemmed and hawed, and eventually settled on building a galley. And whipping it at 11/33 hammers. Oh, let's just show you the excel file:
So no need to report for the next 9 turns, right?

Team GasComm has held the save nearly 6 hours, unheard of for this game!
Told you we got spoiled...

May I never again complain about "only" getting two turns in on one day. But I saw Commodore's post about being at a friend's wedding, so cool beans for him! He went out and had a blast tonight, I'm sure.
Turn 34
Followed the afore published script.
Revolted to Slavery.
John Nance moved N to the forested plains hill; he chops+mines next turn.
Cordell Hull moved to the grassland hill N of New Deal. He'll have just enough time to get a mine done before he hops aboard our first galley.
Demographics are a PAIN this turn, and I'm down to just guessing Soldier Points & Research. Anyway, we had 3 teams change points. Some convoluted changes, too:
Sian grew a pop and researched a tech
Gaspadore researched a tech
Rego whipped away his capital for 2 pop and researched a tech
Rego's gone from first to last in population since I made my dogpile comment. All right, who's the spy?
Now, I couldn't nail down which techs with any certainty. Too many variables flying around. We had a 16k global increase in Soldier points, top soldiers is 25k, min is 17k, and I'm 4th with 19k.
After sussing it out, I'm confident that Sian teched Bronze Working. I think he also built 4k worth of units (warrior + galley, suppose) to go from last (13k) to first (25k) in one turn. I'm less confident that Gaspadore teched Sailing, but I'm picking that because it fits and is a natural tech progression. And then Rego. Rego I have the least confidence of any. But in the end I'm pencilling him down for Sailing as well. For a while i was toying with Writing, but no.

Any chance you could attach that to an email? I'd love to see how the experts do it... ceiliazul.rb@gmail.com

Sure, I might as well upload the template here.
It's really not too fancy, I do most of the calculations in my head. I've seen others on here - I think Serdoa or Sareln is using one that has tons of automation and macros in it; he's definitely a better Excel user than I. I started adding some formulas for the research/technology columns but I'm running into problems when it comes to overflow. (I always thought that you received all your overflow into the next tech at the current tech's pre-requisite modifier, but my sandboxes are not showing that to be the case sometimes.)
Let me know if you have any questions about it.

I read something about this, but that research was done in th early days. my experience is all since BtS, and it seems like the overflow doesnt preserve modifiers. One less concern for micro i guess.

First Contact!
He's pretty close. I'm guessing 13 tiles between capitals, as the airship flies. This makes me want to prioritize settlers. And defenders.
So I sent my first ever diplo missive out to Yuris:
Quote:Hello Yuris!
When you open your next save you'll see we've made contact. My work boat survived stormy seas and arrived this turn within sight off your north shore. I hope this is the first of many cordial messages between our two nations. I'm sure we're both out exploring and discovering the map, and you'll want to do that before we hash out any deals, but as a sign of goodwill I'd like to offer a 20-turn NAP. I figure that is sufficiently short to not overbind and to give us time to work out a more lasting agreement should we choose.
Have you met any other nations out there? I'd appreciate any directions to make contact with the other players out there.
Looking forward to having you as a neighbor!
Just tried to get a simple "hi & howdy-do". Ideally I would want to get a border deal with Yuris. I typically don't agree with the idea of those on principle, but he is the Imperialistic one here. So let's send those extra settlers someone else's direction. If we can get him to bite, that is.
I'm trying to decide at what point I grab Archery. So many MP things I need to learn on the fly. Copper tiles are 7 & 8 tiles away from my capital. At least my 3rd city is going to have horses, but chariots are oh-so great for defending cities. Maybe I should start by building a warrior. I don't have any of those yet.
C&D stuff
Sian grew his 2nd city to size 3
Yuris grew his 3rd city to size 2
Rego grew his capital back to size 4. I think rego also built a miltary unit (galley or warrior) but it's getting tougher to say.

Diplo Dump edition!
Yuris responded when he played:
Cliff Notes version - He met Gaspadore the same turn I met him; it was his boat that sailed south to reach Gaspadore. Nobody else has met him.
- He gave directions on how to move south past his starting island.
- He wants to lock down an indefinite NAP already.
I'm not too hot about rolling NAPs. Kind of like no NAP at all, except you promise to give warning when you're coming with an army. But I think I will take him up on it. I need to think up a response and offer up some info as a carrot. Considering how light I plan on being with defense, there's no need to go antagonizing anybody early on.
So I came back with this
As for the turn itself, not much to report. My work boat is going west, but I have no intention of turning south to find Gaspadore. He will have to wait. As much as I want to meet everyone we are attempting to circumnavigate, belated as our attempt may be.
Next turn the settler out of AAA finishes, and we whip the galley out of New Deal.
Oh, and rego grew again, this time his 2nd city going to size 3. That guy's cities are like weeds.

With New Deal growing to size 4, it was time to flip the whip
AAA's settler finished on the interim, and is halfway to New Deal. Next turn it boards along with Cordell Hull, and they set sail for a new land. AAA is also taking advantage of the population decrease, and took a 2nd flood plains for it to work. By the time New Deal needs the 2nd flood plains again, it will be time to whip AAA. (I've been crunching some numbers, and at least for workers & settlers, whipping does not seem like a good thing for the capital. It only comes out ahead when you have a granary in place. Obviously other things will influence when and if I whip, but just whipping for whipping's sake does not seem good for this early setup.
Thanks to Known Civ bonus from meeting Yuris, I actually finished Mysticism a turn ahead of schedule. It doesn't do anything to speed up Masonry; that's 4 turns away, still coming in end of T41.
Yuris replied again, shooting down my idea to share map information, but said he'd be open to it in 15-20 turns. Fine by me, that's what I meant anyway.

Galley built, settler & worker are on a boat:
Settle T41, Masonry finishes end of T41, and hopefully land Stonehenge end of T42.
You can also see the mine is about to finish, with the chop going into a second galley. John Nance, the worker, then gets on that galley and farms the riverside wheat to help the capital grow. No more foreseeable whips for the capital, at least until it gets a granary.
C&D is getting past my abilities. Everybody else researched a tech on the IT. Soldier Pts shot up 20,000 world-wide as people are making units in earnest, so that isn't a help any more. Still no religions, still no wonders. That won't last long, though, as people are running out of techs to research that aren't religious.
Sian researched a tech. Possibilities are The Wheel, Writing, Masonry, & Archery. I'd guess The Wheel.
Yuris grew a pop; his second city reached size 3. He also researched something. I'm guessing he finally pulled in Bronze Working.
Gaspadore grew a pop; their capital reached size 4. They also researched... The Wheel? Maybe?
Regoarrarr grew two pop points - his 2nd city reached size 4 and he laid down his 3rd city. He also teched something.
