Tasunke, are you in for sure? If so, we have our roster that looks like this:
Quote:1) scooter
2) Rowain
3) Twinkletoes
4) Bigger
5) Mattimeo
6) Tatan
7) Tasunke
But Tasunke did say this:

Might I suggest Molach and Tasunke team up? Molach can get things started since Tasunke is a little less active right now and is still learning, and Tasunke can take a more active role once he's back from being out of town.
Also, either way I think we're about at a full roster. Any objections to my suggestion of picking countries? Basically, send a ranked list of preferences and Mardoc would go down the line - assigning #1 choices to anyone who only ranked that #1 (then move down the order), and break ties randomly.

I'll dedlurk someone who actually intends on keeping an updated thread. I did ok in the noobs game before we all decided we didn't want to be mean to each other.

I plan to keep my thread pretty updated like I did last time.

I'll update. I won't have problems with time, might need some help with the pictures (hopefully the website we are using makes that easy).

By PM, Tasunke says he's in. As soon as he confirms that here, we can begin.

If no one objects by tomorrow, May 28th at 1600 GMT (noon EDT), we can take this method as given. I'd prefer to receive everything by e-mail rather than PM: RBMardoc at gmail.
Any preferences on a time of day to end each phase? I'll personally do best with something around 2300-0200 GMT; that'll let me guarantee a quick posting of results. I can try for a different time of day, though, if it's important.

Mardoc - whatever time works best for you works. We can work around the time, so long as it's consistent.
Alright all - I've heard no objections to all proposed settings, so I'm going to assume the following:
1) Country distribution via my proposed method - you rank your countries, send them to Mardoc, and he distributes them based on rank and randomly breaks ties.
2) Movement phases will be 72 hours long, and retreat/disband (if necessary) will be 24 hours, and build phase will be 24 hours. After a few turns we can consider bumping turns down to 48 hours if necessary, but 72 would be good at the start.
3) All settings default - default map - etc.
If you have any objections you should speak up quickly, but if nobody does, Mardoc is going to assume this is a go.
Also, one more thing I should mention. Diplomacy games are different from the Civ games we play here. By that I mean - deception is a more accepted part of the game. That doesn't mean it's just a "lie all the time" game at all - but "stabs" is considered part of the game. So the only thing that's important is to understand to never take it personally or let it carry out of this game because it IS part of Diplomacy. Just want to make sure that we don't equate a back-stab in this game with the same level of horror as we seem to do for NAP-stabs in Civ games.

scooter I just want a day or 2 after countries are assigned before we actually start, and I'm fine.
waterbat, I would rather prefer having a teammate, like I said =).
