This is my worry too, as I have other games going and just want to play one more game, not to spend hours writing diplomatic proposals/treaties. 1 message a turn isnt going to do much (beside it cant be policed), as in one message agreement up to the end of the game can be described/proposed.
Best things I can think of is you propose for trading only techs/goods you currently have in exchange for techs/good the other party have.

I'm leaning towards not putting limits on diplo simply because I can't think of how we can limit it. I think that seen as most of us don't want to get too intensely into lots of diplo, the level might be kept manageable by that.
I don't want to go as far as CTON because I have played a Tech Trading game like that and it wasn't really much fun.
I'm open to suggestions on how to sensibly limit it though.

Pity... it is cheap though, only 10-20 (NZ)$ when last I checked (not on steam - I mean at online selling (in this case trademe).

Surely you can leave messages with diplo offers or just through the chat screen and then log in after you've seen that they are online? Or once communication has begun, arrange a time for both to be logged in?

I think Jowy's right here - to quote civstats
Quote:This means that the unemployed guy that does nothing but log in every hour to check up gets an advantage over the players that can only log in once per day to play their turn.
I do think setting an artificial limit can work - note its one message which is basically the same as the PBEM13 rules.
It doesn't need policing - we play in a forum where (almost) everyone writes out their plans!
WHere the map is freely available to download!
Simple honor system - besides this way you'd require two parties to cheat.
I wouldn't be able to log in most of the time - but I could send/receive emails on my phone.

Again see my earlier point - it can be a long message but you won't be spending hours in chat/roleplay.

I think 1 message-a-turn would work - definitely better then no limits.
Again guys - trust the players your playing with .
What are your thoughts on bans/RBMod?

I'd rather not be the map roller. I'm headed out of town Tuesday, so I won't really have time to make sure that gets going smoothly. However, I can easily roll the leaders, pick them out (and randomly assign them), and run it by Cyneheard to see what he thinks. A map roller would just take that list and roll a map with it anyways. I'm more comfortable balancing leaders than maps anyways.

5) Cornflakes (/Q if he'll have me )
6) 2metraninja
7) Azza
So 9-12 combos (I'd do two on each end + one in case someone else signs up).
