[SPOILERS] Hashoosh goes for a Carribean (von Alder) Creutz

Between these options I like the coastal site better. It needs no border pop to claim food although fish needs wb fast. Fish is still better than sheep when improved.

But have you given any thought to trying to claiming pigs, cow and sheep? That would be a different site than what the foremr ones are: no tile sharing with cap. If settled 3W4S of the cap it would require no border pop. It would be settler/worker pump to fuel our expansion early on with 3 strong tiles, all could be improved with workers, no workboats. Later the food could be shared.

And the question about early chops. One chop with both workers to get settler earlier is my vote, we should be able to decide the 2nd city site by the time we would get the settler anyway. How would you use the production from those chops? It's more than enough to complete the settler.

3W4S is a strong site, but it's a little too far for my tastes, and it'd need many worker turns away from the cap. We could do it as a 3rd or fourth city for sure, but I'm more partial to settling around that spot rather than use 1 city for all of those resources.

The scout is standing on the grass hill 1 SE from cows. It looks like more tundra/ice to our south, so I'm guessing we're at the south pole, inland sea-type map setup. Those western mountains look like they may be a natural border for whoever our neighbour over there turns out to be. More fun, more fun! dancing

So here's our land as it stands right now. Scout's sitting on the forest in between corn and sheep up in the north.

Tentative dotmap. I think that a plant to our northwest is still our strongest option, with a chop or slaved WB getting fish hooked quickly after planting. We can then chop a granary in and use that city as whip fodder with its two 5 food tiles. The numbers are a rough estimate as to the order we'd settle these cities, the pig/sheep/cow city would be really nice to have, but it'll need some worker turns to get up and running. Do you think we should settle it as our second city and push the fish site to a later settler?

Well the city with pigs, sheep and cow has stronger tiles and doesn't need that workboat. It's lot better to have resources that can be improved by workers than resources that need a workboat since the workboat can't be used again. It takes quite a lot of turns to be connected though. Getting the food resources up and running has priority over road connection.

About your dotmap: I like the southern option of your number 2 since it has all the food in the first ring. Fish cow site should be settled on the eastern option, since the elephants can't be connected anyway as you pointed out. Number 3 should probably be 1W of gold. It needs border pop so good to have forest in 1st ring, also gold in the first ring is important. I gave some thought to 3SE of our cap too. It obviously has the advantage of not needing a border pop to claim sheep. Less shared tiles with cap is bad and the fact that it's not on a plainhill, also more tundra.

What do you think of this?

So we've got fallout on the coast. Is this on purpose, Commodore?

If you're an astute observer, you could see that in the fallout image, our scout was sharing a tile with someone. It's BaII! So we've discovered our Northern (?) neighbour, and I think the mountain ranges are looking more and more like natural zones of control. If I had to wager a guess now, we're playing on a pseudo-donut, but instead of a jelly filled centre, we've got ice. With marble and stone in the ice. I'd even go so far as to say that those are the only two sources, and we're supposed to balance that advantage with 1 or 2 wasted city plants.

At currency, they could probably generate 10-12 commerce with enough foreign TRs + the city tile + the marble tile. Is that worth double speed wonders? Guess we'll have to find out.

So we have the fast starter as our neighbour, also having holkan. Maybe we should explore how close he is and the quality of land between us. If he's close hooking up copper fast becomes a priority.

What shall we do with the overflow from settler? 2 chops will mean quite a lot of overflow. I'm still suggesting 1 faster chop and earlier settler.

The icy marble and stone? I would settle those eventually but prioritize other spots before them. There are always national wonders and maybe there is even time to get some failgold, not from national wonders though.

I tweaked the micro with a mine on the plains hill, the eta for the settler was 3 turns on BW. Oops. Overflow into another worker, whip, grow to size 3 and do another settler?

Are you good with the fish plant as our second city, we can chop a workboat out quick and hook the cows while the cap is working 3 improvements, and then bring the workers back for that triple-pasture grass site in the south.

Sorry for not posting for a while, I have problems getting the mod working. I sent you email about that a while ago. Maybe RBMod and BUG mod don't work together?

I'm afraid I can't help much if I don't get the mod working other than I can comment on dotmapping and some stuff with the help screenshots.
