Updated dotmap using the signs in-game and new scouting info.
I realize as I'm typing this out that I forgot to name the capital
![duh duh](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/duh.gif)
I went back in to do it, but I guess since the game is currently paused it won't let me change it.
Some thoughts on these city locations:
City 2 (orange) looks to be our second city, it can steal the pigs from the capital or just use the corn for initial growth, and then leech the hill tiles from the capital, looks like it will be a production city. This location also gets us the fish that would have otherwise been orphaned.
City 3 (red) I assume would be next, again able to share tiles with the capital including the copper, I assume that will be hooked up somewhat soon. It gains two more food tiles once borders pop so it wouldn't need to depend on the capital forever. Plenty of hills here too.
After that, I'd guess we'd go for either yellow or the aggressive green plant, with the pink gems city being city 6? Yellow has multiple resources in its starting radius to build itself up, and green has the rice it can use right away. Green seems like it would work as a commerce city, although it's obviously going to be on the border with Magic Science.
After those, the current mapped/signed cities would tend towards more filler, purple would get Ivory and Silk, blue likely would form the border with our assumed western neighbor but would require a border pop for the stronger tiles unless the fogged tile NW of the city site happens to have something.
I mapped a city both directly on the wine in the southwest, as well as a city one tile west. 1W of the Wine would also get the spices, but it would leave multiple tiles unused between that city and the proposed Yellow and Purple cities. The brown city in the middle of the map feels like a lower priority filler city, only picking up silks and needing to borrow a food from another city.
No reason to try mapping a city to the Southeast as there are no resources visible, although I'd bet there's an iron and or horses there. I'm sure there's room for 1 or even 2 cities between pink and green that could be claimed.
I assume you'd like to try somewhat of a farmer's gambit here and pop out as many settlers as possible. Metagaming for a second, I think I'd build more military than I'd actually need if it was a game with vets just because I'd be paranoid, but in this game I have a feeling everyone's power will run a bit light early on. And of course we can keep tabs on the demos, if someone starts building up power who happens to be near us it's not hard to pop out some units instead of settlers.
Also really curious how the map is going to end up, I'd assume there's probably someone another 5-7 tiles west of where you've scouted, Magic is 15 tiles east of the capital, and the Blue dot is 8 tiles from the capital. I'd also guess there's probably someone a ways south of the gems, too.
