Wow, Ot4e razed Robinson! He won an incredible string of low-odds battles which was the only way for him to do it. As a side-effect, Economics is delayed for a turn. I did consider adding a couple more research builts just to be safe from this contingency but I have much more useful things to do with my production.

Hehe. Somehow, while Harry was busy, Cairo also was busy. But now, Harry finally plays - and Cairo plays five minutes after him. Not subtle, dude. Not subtle at all.

Got Cairo's graphs. He is militarized as hell. Harry would be totally fucked if he didn't have Frigates. Also, new GA for Krill.

And this how I will deal with his northern bastions. After turn rolls, all those galleys in production will convert to Galleons.



The vanguard of the Great Western Armada. These boats will circle around Cairo and will end up in the sea to the south of Hindu Holy city, waiting there for Galleons which will use a shorter northern road.

Big international news this turn is that Harry got an enforced peace with Krill. Krill immediately put all his resources to researching Astro - I think, he is running lots of research builds. It looks like he figured that he cannot make progress against Harry without naval parity and will use these ten turns to tech to Frigates.
Of course, Harry can use this same ten turns to get Military Science or Steel. Frankly, I think Krill should consider concession now. His window of opportunity to catch up with me is small and is dwindling rapidly.

Cairo has 25 Caravels in the middle of nowhere. Also, there is a bunch of Galleys and a land stack composed of various trash which is watched by OH's sentry chariot. Cairo got declared by Superdeath this turn but it should be something minor, I think.



Quite a lot of virgin land here...

I think I am in trouble here. Superjm will have Printing Press in 2 turns and after that he is two techs from Cavalry. A few turns of saving gold after that, a generous donation from Krill - and I will have around 25 Cavalry right on my border.
How can I respond? I will finish PP this turn and after that, I will need to pick up gunpowder which sj already has. Military Tradition is miles away from me but I can tech to Rifling and enable Riflemen. Cavalry loses first strike immunity which means Drill 3/Formation Rifles are a decent counter. Of course, it's a one-mover and I am going to run into trouble with logistics.
So... tech Gunpowder next, stockpile lots of Muskets to mass-upgrade into Rifles if shit hits the fan. Also, set up galleon-trains along coasts. That's the plan.

OK, it is now very obvious that superjm is going to attack me. He is 6 turns from Replaceable Parts and he is doing research in a very sneaky way. His slider is slightly below breakeven due to which he is both researching and quietly banking up money:

My projection is that I will have Rifling at the same time as him but I will not have any money in the bank. It won't be pretty.


Dijon, Chartres, and Poitiers are goners but they are expandable. The real question is whether I will be able to hold Paris and Orleans.

Also this:

Krill did some magic to get Chemistry the very next turn after Astronomy. Engineer bulb and mass research builds I assume. I have only a handful of Privateers here and will not be able to reinforce much as I am going to be building Muskets everywhere. Also, Harry killed one of my Privateers with his Frigate. I assume it was not intentional, he just moved a Frigate into the fog. And he offered me 30 gold to compensate. Still, it was not helpful at all.

Also, what is wrong with lurkers in this game? Lots of people updating but lurker thread has fewer posts than the one of PB43 which has just begun.

By the way:



I have no idea why Superdeath and Cairo are fighting. This is literally the only place where they touch each other and it does not look like anyone of them can really gain anything. They both need to dogpile OH but I am quite happy they do not want to do it.
