but now that I think about it I don't see anyway that is possible, regardless of where the city is. so it must just be a graphical bug that will look normal once we reveal that tile.

Well yeah. Look at the barb city. We only have one tile of that revealed and the culture wraps up. Same thing.

I thought maybe the barbs culture was so bad they only had the city square revealed smoke

I should probably start posting less.

1. Keep posting Bigger - we want more pictures! I'm a fan of [screenshot ] tags rather than [spoiler ] tags, but your images are small enough that [img ] tags work fine for me - I don't know what anyone else thinks?

2. I bet Azza isn't whipping because of the overflow he'd lose due to Warriors being so cheap.

3. Would roading the rice speed up chariots?

4. I'd leave the pigs alone just now, but if he's mucking around with the workers north of the capital I don't think you need to worry about strategic resources.

5. Could Helen and friend road the tile 1W of the Illiad next turn, that could speed up the chariot from Gilgamesh?
Reply

1. ill give 'em a try next turn
3. hmm, yes actually good catch. doing that 2 turns from now (next turn completing the desert road) would allow the chariot now coming out of the Odyssey to reach the forest tile next to Tenacious D in 2 turns instead of 2.5
5. do you mean SW of the Iliad? In any case the chariot won't pass through either tile, so it doesnt help. we need a road 1 SE of Gilgamesh.

Actually, I was planning both of those road movements. Next turn the two workers were going to road the tile SW of Illiad and the chariot was going to move to that tile. Also part of the reason I messed up and didn't road the tile SE of Gilgamesh was because I was focused on bring the workers south so that we'd have workers there to help road the rice. So yes both of those were in the plan.

I agree about the possibility of the whipping warriors thing. The pigs may or may not get pillaged depending on what we see when we move Achillies onto the forest. There's a lake there so we should get excellent vision.

well if all he can build is warriors, he can probably 1 turn them, so it makes sense not to whip. I just don't understand why all he can build is warriors. we were promised a strategic resource in our BFC, afterall.

I didn't convert. but maybe we should? as you can see it was founded in the Iliad, which grew into unhappy this turn. so the +1 happy would immediately be put to use. plus both Gilgamesh and theOdyssey just finished a chariot. hmm.

I'm gonna be at a NYE party tonight, lewwyn, so I'll leave decisions like that to you smile

switched to sailing, which is only 3 turns due to overflow.
we are -10 gold at 100% thanks to so many military units being outside our borders :/. however, we are still +1 at 70%, thanks to our #1 economy, so no biggie. the scout can move this turn and hopefully find another hut.

Tenacious D is now size 7!! not sure if he picked up another happy or grew into unhappy. azza stole the #1 city spot from us as a result. I find it humorous that he has moved into the #2 score, despite just having a city razed smile.

EDIT: warning...profanity ahead

Azza offered peace for Odyessey, so fuck you. I offered peace for all his cities.

He triple whipped this turn so I expect last turn he hooked a strat resource, IE copper or horse, put a turn into whatever last turn and then whipped everything. So we'll be facing, 3 chariots or 3 spears or hopefull not, 3 praets next turn. THIS IS WHY I DIDN"T FUCKING WANT TO GET INVOLVED IN THIS SHITTY ASS MOTHERFUCKING ANCIENT ASS WAR BULLSHIT. GODDAMN FUCKING JESUS CHRIST OR A STICK SHOVED SO FAR UP YOUR ASS. FUCK YOU AZZA< FUCK YOU 2013

Azza attacked out with a warrior at our warrior and won at 50% odds. I fucking knew I should have promoted him to C1. FUCK YOU AZZA.

FUCK THIS MAP FOR GIVING ME ABSOLUTE NO SHITTING ALTERNATIVE!

Did not revolt to jews we need more chariots and we can't wait. DOESN"T MATTER WE"RE FUCKED ANYWAY

I pillaged the goddamn pigs. If anything I'm going to pillage those fucking goddamn pigs. Oh and Azza started with gold next door. SOME REALLY NICE FUCKING GOLD

I left tech on sailing but I'm beginning to think I should change it to IW and settle that iron so that we stand a chance. Anyone who says we're winning is crazy because now we're about to be dragged into a war we can't win for the next 30 turns and everyone will pass us.

Happy Fucking New Year.

just got home from the party. wish you were online so i could calm you down. anyway, Lewwyn - CALM THE FUCK DOWN.
rage/frustration = mistakes, which we can't afford right now. You are definitely the best player on this team, but any of us playing the turn calmly would be better than a rageful Lewwyn.

I played poker professionally (online) for a couple of years, and the most important thing I learned was this: don't judge a hand on the results, judge it on the decisions you made. we made the right decision based on the information we had. As you said, the map didn't really give us a choice. so who cares what the results are? Let's focus on what we can control (our decisions) and not how the map screwed us. Besides, there is still a lot we can do and fun to be had smile.

im logging into the game now to check things out, I'll have more in a bit.

ok, initial thoughts:

we don't know for sure whether we're facing chariots or spears. not really sure which is better - chariots mean we have better odds, but azza doesnt have a road network so we can probably run circles around spears for awhile and cause a lot of havoc.

regardless, we probably need a metal. so I switched to Iron working. we have 49 gold, losing 9 per turn at 100 percent, it takes 7 turns for iron working. so I turned the research down to 0%. we can crank it up to 100% next turn and not lose any time, but this gives us a time to think about it. maybe azza makes a mistake, maybe he is whipping archers after all, and we can switch back to sailing. anyway we can put that decision off until next turn.

helen and penelope are near the Iliad. they need to to move to the forest SE of the iliad to chop that settler out ASAP. cassandra can still get the road SE of the capital built in time for the next chariot. The iron city not only secure iron, but will be great for our economy. Gold will be great, both for the commerce and the happy that allows gilgamesh, iliad, AND the odyssey to work an extra cottage. so we will not be as harshly affected by this as you are making out. all we need is for the chariots to run circles around azza long enough for us to get iron hooked up and we'll be able to either push on or get a stalemate peace (which means we win since we took the gold/rice/iron spot that would have been azza's). so fucking relax, the sky isn't falling smile.
