RBP3 [Spoilers] Capac of Mali

If we think we may only get KB, should we spend the artist to culture bomb it? That will bring it out of resistance immediately.

I think you need to turn culture up to 100% temporarily to get the best effect from a culture bomb.

Yeah, I was certainly thinking about culture-bombing KB. Not sure we can justify the 100% culture though.

Even if we decide to limit our ambitions to keeping KB then I think we should also try to raze their capital to set back cuddle.

Quick rules chat with Inca:

Quote:14:38 me: hiya
14:39 JANK: hello
me: quick one regarding moves this turn
there's a rule to stop double moves about no units moving with 12 hours
14:40 but given you definitely moved after us are you ok to skip that rule for this turn?
JANK: ya obviously
14:41 me: cheers

Inca had 3 cats and an additonal musket in the fog:

[Image: b67aeadf.jpg]

Our stack of doom (so I hope!) rumbled up to the gates of Kalin's Burgers whose burg(h)ers are sore afraid hammer

If we're lucky, our assorted junk units will soak up the collateral, leaving our curries relatively unscathed to attack next turn. Even if Inca whips walls our cats will be able to take down the defences. If not, we'll have some for suiciding.

I also moved Bill out of Paint It Brown so that he can go be our Southern Desert sentry. Rome could try to bonk him, but it'll be a coin-toss on the hills, and shock is an obsolete promo anyhow.

Away from the front, temple whipped at PiB, settler lined up at Sticky Fingers (where we lost the tile we stole from England). Bablyon Bridge will grow into unhappiness in 2t, but Egypt has promised their spare gold if we don't capture Inca's source next turn.

Assuming a draft and a whipped musket, we'll face at least:

6 Muskets
6 Longbows
any cats that survive
plus units in the fog

Some rego-esque thread-spam from me this evening lol

I volunteered us to be the third techer, given we're in a hot war which may get hotter still. Tech paths are thus:
Quote:Maya: Rifling(4320) -> Constitution (3600) -> Steam Power (5760) -> Assembly Line (9000)

Techer 2: Scientific Method (4320) -> Biology (6480) -> Railroad (8100)

Techer 3: Steel (5040) -> Communism (5040) -> Corporation (2880) -> Compass -> Optic (980) ->Astronomy (3600)

So it looks like we get to claim another GP if we can beat cuddle to Communism. I'd like to claim this was Machiavellian cunning on my part, but I'd completely forgotten who was to tech what until I looked this up a couple of minutes ago.

Rilfling's due in 7 so I'd propose to the group that we burn the likely Artist due out of Uberfish (12 or so) on a 12t GA and gift the Spy to someone else (England?) for the same purpose.

Shouldn't we just attack on the current turn with Curries? We'll lose a couple to the muskets, but the catapults don't get defensive bonuses.

I talked to Krill about it and decided not to attack this turn as we don't have that many curries to spare. Bombing defenses down and a few collateral cats will make it easier to deal with their entire stack at once, rather than risking heavy losses attacking into 40% culture.

Odds were pretty poor without bombing down defences, so I did so and milked promos for a couple of level 1 curries. City capture yielded 89g and granary intact.

Decision now is whether to press on, or not. We can send 12 curries, 5 cats, 4 muskets, 2 pikes, 2 maces and the medic chariot. The rest can garrison KB. We couldn't see Inca's 2 musket, 3 cat mini-stack when I made a round with the sentry chariot. They could have gone to garrison Kiwi Town, but I think it's more likely that they've retreated towards their capital.

I think we should move towards Kiwi Town (with the intention to raze it).

Then there's the question of the Great Artist: bomb him in KB, or save him for later. Given we're not being culturally pressed at KB, I'd favour a 4t settler out of Babylon Bridge and settling 2E of Rooster's current position, then bomb. We can use the curries currently in production to protect it from Rome (and can send some of the cats over there too). We also have the three workers from PiB/KB who can road towards the city.

Away from the frontlines, Sticky's settler was whipped and the spice site fogbusted by a curry (which can be sent south in a couple of turns). I have requested Chemistry from Carthage, and we should set research to Steel once it's delivered. Sistene completes next turn which will help us pop borders thanks to free Merc citizens smile

So when you said we'd face 6 muskets and 6 longbows, you meant in the empire as a whole and not just at KB? It looks like there was only one of each on defense, and we took the city with no losses. Is that correct?

In the second screenshot, what tile are those units of Athlete's on?
