Request: please no more logging in. Sunrise is going to need to reload, and players logging in means more potential reload saves being overwritten.

Got this back from Sunrise a couple of hours ago:

Not sure what is up , but I've not been able to log in remotely either, probably due to the same slowness. I'll restart everything in person tomorrow or Sunday...not sure yet when I'll be back.

It looks like Mackoti, Pindicator or Slowcheetah will have the best saves to go from, so as Scooter says can you guys avoid logging in again?

So checking in this morning I notice we've had two rolled turns - I guess we didn't manage to get in and pause?

Nobody was able to log in for the first time to pause it, the server was that bad. So we're going to have to wait for sunrise to be able to fix the server and reload it. (This is why I keep saying a pause is better than a reload! )

OK RPB11 crew, the server has been rebooted. Many of you may recall my still unsolved semi-random bandwidth issue where my instances of pitboss programs will occasionally move from <1mb/sec bandwidth use to ~200mb/sec use. Well this instance of that took the cake with all 200mb of my upload bandwidth and over 13,000mb of my download bandwidth being consumed by civ (aka network usage shown through windows was 1.38% of a gigabit network). Apparently there wasn't enough left for reliable connections into the game, and definitely not enough for my remote access client.

Based on Old Harry above, I reloaded to the slowcheetah save. If a different one works better let me know.

I am still having a problem which I assumed was related to the server problems but may not be, now that they're apparently fixed.

Frequently when connecting, I sit at "Contacting host" for ages. Then it times me out. I don't bounce off anyone, it's just failing to connect. Usually i leave it for 5-10 minutes and it will then let me in - sometimes it doesn't.

EDIT: prime example, I timed out three times just now and then got in on the fourth time, changing nothing on my end between attempts.

I can only easily test from inside my network, but I'm not currently having any issues connecting.

I cannot connect now.... should be alright with the timer if I can connect later.
