Here's another odd thing I noticed
Not sure why WK has 2 workers farming a grass tile here. It seems very ![smoke smoke](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/smoke.gif) - my thought would be that a better move would be chopping both those forests to get out a monument to get that corn tile, or a granary (he's Exp/Chm so both of those buildings are nice)
Notice also the "other" iron that we can currently see.
This is also "Bob's Fork" - we'll be settling a city next turn on the tile just off the screen to the north (2N of the copper)

[OT] rego, you do get mails from Yucata.de that you're up in Stone Age, don't you?

Slightly off topic: Hey Sunrise089, do you have any relation to a Milan89?
I ask because he just stomped me in a ffa with a gigantic stack of chariots and axes. And I thought I was doing so well! I counter-choked someone with my starting warrior and a skirmisher, finished them off with chariots, and managed to oracle civil service. Alas, I wasn't looking at my western front, and he completely blindsided me. Even my catapults couldn't make a real dent in his stacks.

Sent an email to Adlain
Quote:hey Adlain!
It's been awhile since we talked and I've been meaning to drop you a note for awhile. But I saw that you had sent a missionary our way so it seemed like a good trigger to make sure I sent something!
If you wouldn't mind moving it on to the gems tile and then NW into our lands and gifting the missionary (rather than just spreading it yourself), that would be appreciated. We're not exactly sure where we want to make the spread yet.
The other reason that we wanted to drop you a note was about our eventual borders. I saw that you've settled a city in our direction (CEO's Doubt - though I just saw that it's blocked by a peak) and I know that you've got a couple of other cities starting to poke their way into Centralia. And your missionary has probably seen that we have settled a few (though not all) of our cities to our SE.
It may still be too early to form the final border agreement, but I thought it probably made sense to start having the discussions - so how far to your NW do you see as "yours"? I know that there's a lot of open land to your direct north also so I don't know if you plan to move in that direction primarily or not.
I should be around on chat off and on today
I took a picture but it must not have taken - he's got a Buddhist missionary headed our way - it's near our SE border right now

I tried to get Adlain on chat but the timing didn't work out. We did get an email from Locke though
Quote:So we havent talked in a while and I thought I would send you message. :D How are you feeling about the game? We were lucky to get religion and that helped us alot. Needed Confu for happiness. I see you are getting lots of cities now. On coast for GL trade routes (?) I hope things are going better for you now. Sounded like start was tough.
One thing I suggest is that we send each other picture of minimap. We have a lot of map explored and I'm sure you do to. And since we are far away we probably have different parts of world explored. That would be good way to get map info. What do you think?
We were also wonderin if you had heard anything about alliances forming. We on good terms with neighbors but dont want to get 2 vs 1 later. I see that Parkin and WarriorKnight are trading resources for maybe they are allied (?) It is tough with teams we dont know very well and are faraway. Over here we have long NAPs with Adlain and Nakor. Pretty friendly with both. We are good friend with mackoti but he seems to be dying to luddite. Everyone in south is worried about plako.
So I guess I am fishing for info here LOL. But maybe we share info and help each other. I talk to you because you write back. Other teams dont say much in this game.

I do owe more of an in-game update which I'll try to get to at some point soon here

Quote:Hi Locke!
You're right - we're always good for some talking! Congratulations on landing Confucianism - we had had some talks about maybe going for that, but I (apparently correctly) assumed that it would go long before we could get there. Adlain did send us a Buddhist missionary so we can convert to that if/when we want. Still only one city has it but maybe we'll get some spreads.
We are up to 8 cities now but we're still behind most folks now. We do have all of the cities on the coast at least so far, so that's nice. The problem is just because Civ is such a snowball game as I'm sure you know, it's tough to catch up. We do at least seem to be holding on our own on economy as we expand, which is nice.
I haven't heard anything about any types of alliances forming - hopefully they're not forming without us! I hadn't seen that WK and LP are trading resources that's good to know. We have a NAP at least with Lord Parkin so it's nice to have one border safer. We're starting to come south a little bit so we're getting close towards plako. I'm also worried about plako - you probably saw that he has Currency tech now and a GNP of 274!?!?! He told me he is building Wealth which I don't know why he's doing that unless his expansion has REALLY crashed his economy (certainly possible - what's he up to like 14 cities?)
Any other thoughts?

Chat witih plako
Quote:9:45 AM me: hi
9:49 AM plako: hi
9 minutes
9:59 AM me: hi
sorry had tos tep away
plako: np
me: i was wondering if you'd allow your warrior to skip through your lands near Kiss
as he's trapped
just wanted to get him back towards bob's fork
10:00 AM and lord parkin won't open borders with us ;-(
plako: . You didn't even let me go trough areas that weren't under your control
10:01 AM I trust we've NAP as long as your troops are going through
There is another warrior in the east
*west
me: another of mine?
plako: yeah
me: yeah
10:02 AM i think (not at teh map) that he can go through nakor's lands
plako: I've some work to do with my worker
10:03 AM And your warriors could be in position to do some damage
me: ok
how about 10 turn nap in exchange for access to the other side fo the map?
10:04 AM plako: Alright
Do you want to discuss about our border
me: sure
though i'm not at the map currently
plako: I'd like to settle the cows near the fork
10:05 AM me: but i can talk generally
let me see if i can find a picture
wow so that's claiming the whole of that section?
the cows 2SW of the copper?
10:06 AM plako: yeah. You've already came south of the jungle i.e. our side
me: is that the generally held dividing line?
plako: That is mythough
10:07 AM me: at one point we figured out how tall the map is
do you know?
plako: I've sen both ends, but haven't counted
10:08 AM But I would be surprised if there would be difference between south and north
me: ok
10:10 AM plako: You've also plenty of jungle to settle in the east . Lot of resources. Compared to the block west from the fork there are just couple of pigs and copper
me: so you're proposing that we settle no further cities in the south?
plako: Well you could go south towards WK
I wouödn't mind
10:11 AM me: heh
i'm sure he might have something to say about that ;-)
plako: probably ,)
me: so how many cities do you think you'll end up with (peacefully)?
and yes there is jungle to our east, but adlain and sleeping moogle also want a peace fo that
10:12 AM plako: Sure, but I doubt it all belongs to them when you've already couple of cities close by
10:13 AM I've few not that great place left behind that might wait Biology or Corporations. But generally I think there is room for ~5 cities that don't steal food from other cities
10:14 AM How about you?
10:15 AM me: yeah i think maybe up to 20 also
but that's more than 5 additional ones for me ;-)
okay i have to run for a mtg
i'll be back in a few and we can continue
10:16 AM plako: ok cya
10:17 AM I could sell you Settlers, when our borderes get a bit closer, if you're intrested
He wants to settle all the land SW of Bob's Fork
