[SPOILERS] JR4 tries his luck in PB 37

Graphs and demos: Getting open borders  helped our gnp a bit. All is looking good. Btw, take a look at that crop yield graph: Did anyone say too close to call!?

Okay! For starters: Good catch noticing I was wrong about the missionary's path to Oghul Qaimish; roading the plains (presumably hidden iron) tile would not have sped up its journey, so good call using the Workers in other ways instead.

You did the right thing letting Muqa grow, but it should probably start a Settler now since it's unhappy and making very little net food (and we need more Settlers as long as there's unsettled land). It can be multi-pop whipped very soon if desired, with a decent amount of overflow.

That's a lot of workers around Toregene. I'd start by building a road on the river plains E of the city and go from there.

I'd suggest letting Toregene whip its library the turn before we plan to turn on tech for Currency (so in 3-4 turns, I guess).

Yeah, whipping the lighthouse in Oghul Qaimish would probably be the best call.

I went ahead and whipped Oghul Qaimish. Muqa is now building a settler. As both Joey and Dark Savant were playing as I joined, we`re probably getting yet another turn today! I`m not complaining. The weather is really awful here so it`s just a slow Saturday. Actually the workers near Toregene finished a road E of the city, not SE. My bad.

Agreed on waiting to whip the library in Toregene until we are ready to go full research. I noticed that the missionary had to use another turn to get to Oghul Qaimish but forgot to mention it in the turn report.

Heh - looks like you already built the road I mentioned - nice! It wasn't clear to me if you were asking for suggestions on those workers; if so, one of them can go to the bananas to road - part of a long (hopefully not too long!) project to connect Nambui to Toregene an the rest of the empire by the western route (the river grassland 2W of the bananas will also want to be roaded for this purpose, plus the "C" tile and of course the other banana and the jungle between the lakes). Another tile it would be helpful to road would be the river plains north of Borte's horses (to speed up movement from the Muqa region southward in the pre-construction era).

Oghul Qaimish can hopefully start a Monastery next turn. It should hopefully claim the contested mutually-second-ring tiles on turn 90 (the monastery of course won't be complete by then).

Yup, it didn`t make any sense to me building a road on the silks. It could have been titled "the road to nowhere"! I`m always looking for advice on worker movement. Building a road on the banana sounds good to me. My initial plan was to have the worker currently mining 2W of Toregene do it but it`s busy atm. Eventually we need a road all the way down there to make it easier to travel between Toregene and Nambui. Borte could always use a couple more cottages. If we can speed up movement with building a road N of the horses it`s probably a worthwhile investment as well.

Building a monastery in Oghul Qaimish is a good plan. We`re getting cultural control of the all-important lake soon. Will we get it already on turn 90? I think it`s going to be tight. Also, we`ll be able to build missionaries for eventual western island cities.

Btw, how do you feel about hiring 2 scientists in a city for a quick academy? (I don`t have a specific city in mind). In SP I really like doing it early but I`m unsure of how valuable it is in MP.

Dark Savant finished his turn so we`ll get that third turn today. I`ll play it soon.

TURN 89

The economy is looking better. Maybe we should build another city quickly. Currency will of course do wonders for us. I can`t wait for it to complete. Right now Buddhism is the most widespread religion in the world! It looks like Hinduism hasn`t spread to a lot of cities, maybe the slow spread rate is normal in these kind of games.

SW of Radnashiri are the borders of Dark Savant`s. I don`t want to risk anything so the chariot was unloaded in the city, just t have a second defender if he tries anything. I`ll have to think about where to build the next city. Any ideas?

A worker went to the rice to build a road there as building a road N of the horses isn`t of immediate need. Oghul Qaimish will actually grow again next turn. Beautiful! Borte had to swap some tiles in order to grow as well. (It`s working the rice and the oasis this turn).

Graphs and demos: It looks like we`re pulling away ever so slightly in crop yield. That`s a good sign. The power levels are rather low in our part of the world. That`s not going to last forever but for now we`re safe.

Things are looking good.

Good enough that I'm going to ask the big question. What's your plan to win? This is a realistic objective given your position.

Go on...
It may have looked easy, but that is because it was done correctly - Brian Moore

I don't know for sure if we'll take cultural control of the western contested lake tile and contested river grassland on T80; Civ is sometimes weird about updating tiile ownership and takes an extra turn to do so. But if you mouse over either tile on T80, it should indicate that the tile is at least 50% Khatunate and no more than 49% Immortal. If I did (and remember) my math correctly, of course!

Not only that, if we complete the monastery any time reasonably soon, Oghul Qaimish will hit third-ring borders before turn 100!

(I'll leave shallow_thought's comment/question to you....)

I`ll get back to shallow_thought`s question a bit later.

Looking at civstats, Joey had a very big increase this turn. He might have finished a wonder. Hopefully it`s not the Pyramids. We are getting control over that lake tile, whether it`s on this turn or the next. The monastery will help us to keep control over it in the next turns.
