OMG, Rego won the decisive point, 8-5 now, gz! dancing
BTW, that was a very interesting game - I followed the complete endgame and will post my analysis with tons of variations soon.

Congratulations to the whole team, beating opponents which were rated 250 point higher on average was an incredible performance.
Well done! smile

Grats all smile

But I do wonder why rego opponent decided to go 47. Kd5 . Did he miscount the moves? Wouldn't Kf5 have won him the game?

And I wonder why you are not on the RB chess team if you see things like that... lol

Congrats, guys. I'm a chess noob, but it's fun to see the games and trying to figure out what's happening.

Because I love to make huge blunders (like not seeing a Bishop targeting my Queen and similar) in the mid-game wink.

Yeah, I liked that rego endgame too. The black queen carefully prevents the white pawn from queening, and every five moves or so, forces the white king onto the pawn's queening square, gaining a vital tempo to move the black king closer until they can capture the pawn together.

You totally would have given useless checks if Gustaran didn't help you... It's just the way beginners play. I've seen people not being able to win an endgame a Queen and Rook up because they kept checking the king in the middle of the board.

Luckily for us David is winning anyway so we would have won the match anyway. smile
