Elkad here, taking over for ZPV.
Wow @ the analysis of how many forests a competitor had based on life expectancy...
OK, I'm in a war. I have friends.
Engineering is in. Pikes will be handy against elephants, and faster roads is always useful.
Examination of my nation shows good development, with a couple things I intend to correct immediately. Irrigation chain for a corn tile, mining a copper (completed).
Losing 2 cities put me a bit behind on the land race, but I intend to resettle them (and likely chop walls/castle immediately for one of them). The great debated horse city may be settled 2w of its former location on the coast. Fish+horses instead of cows+horses. Conceding the cow tile to India, and losing a bit of land for water. Or it could go 1SE, keeping the cow, letting the hill be mined, and leaving room to build a fishing village to use that fish in the later game.
Military. Sad. Lots of Numidians, most scattered around the globe. No longbows, no siege, no spears. My only medic is off exploring the world. I do have barracks and stables. Most numidians recalled home. Left a couple out chasing circumnavigation. Navy consists of an exploring workboat, and a galley+trireme duo - which is currently running away from a 3 trireme stack of Shady's.
Civics. I have a monastery under construction. That will let me get a coherent religion going (I'm still under NSR and paganism).
GP farm. None. Couple possibles, and wonder points from stonehenge. I'd like to set off a GA in the near future for theo+hinduism, avoiding a revolt. If possible, I'd like to have another city ready with a full food bar to make a GA-fueled starvation run for another GP. Which means adopting caste at the same time. Possibly swapping out at the last minute.
So, priorities.
1-Build troops. No more numidians, I need a mix of defensive stuff (including siege) for now. Pikes, longbows, xbows and catapults.
2-Build missionaries to spread a religion.
3-Resettle my 2 lost cities, plus some relatively safe fillers. Island city for trade routes is still needed, especially if I build some castles to go with my Cothons. And will help my allies as well.
