Alright guys, I went ahead and threw everyone into pools. I randomly picked a name off the list, flipped a coin (didn't have a dice), and I put heads in pool A, tails in pool B. When A filled up, I put the last two into pool B.

given how quickly sign-up has moved would you consider giving it an hour or two to see if one more person wants to sign up and do 6 & 6?

There's two routes really. WarriorKnight hasn't confirmed yet, so if he says no, then you can take his spot. If he says yes and someone else signs up too, then we can expand it to 6 and just add you guys into each pool.

@ map, I'm voting for huts and random events to be ON. I find them fun and that's worth the random unfairness in my opinion. As long as there's no broken random events out there (I haven't encountered one).

I'm not in favor of huts or Random Events, but won't die on that hill.

Pools are fine with me.

Open questions to be answered from most of us:

- Map making and all settings completely the call of the map-maker? That would include having ivory on the map, huts and events as well as espionage turned on/off, choosing religions turned on/off, no barbarians or even raging and so on.

Currently: 4 yes (scooter, athlete, dazedroyalty, Jowy), 2 no (Serdoa, TT - both for no huts and events, anything else not really concerned about)

- If Espionage turned on, Spy missions etc. are allowed or do we want to have only passive spying (no spies outside own cultural borders, so no possibility for any spy missions, but espionage still there for research visibility etc.)?

Currently: 1 only passive spying (Serdoa)

- Any objections to the pools?

Currently: 3 no (dazedroyalty, scooter, Serdoa)

Did I forget anything?

I'd vote for huts and random events to be on as well...it will be nice to have some randomness...

re: groups I'm ok with that.

as far as broken events...i don't know if there are any but granting all melee units the vs archer promo is a pretty strong one as well as popping a tech or 2 from huts...still I'd like them on...just another thing to play against (or with if you're the lucky one!).

I'm not in favor of active spying but am fine with leaving the decision about EP to the map maker. So my vote would be passive only.

If we're settled on groups maybe we should move our groups discussions on settings and preferences to a separate thread and leave this one to die? We can also create a map makers thread asking for help on that side of things?
