Although you are at peace with the Barbarians, you are not at peace with the animals of Erebus. That Elephant city shouldn't be too hard a nut to crack with a Lizardman and Rantine.

Ok - the Azer city might take a little longer granted.

It is a game mechanic point that he thinks he has to get Rantine to a higher strength than the elephant.

Going by what other people have said no to in the past, that's definately too helpful. Some vague hint about reviewing animals and hidden nationality might be ok. I don't really know though. Maybe he deserves some help with the situation anyway.

The elephant was added as a barbarian unit, if I remember correctly, so no such luck. Animals need the hidden nationality promotion for me to attack them without declaring on the barbs.

Am I the only one who thinks Ichabod actually understands this game a lot better than we do?

What it comes down to then by the sounds of it is whether animals are given the hidden nationality promotion by default when added in worldbuilder.

Just checked and no, they don't start with the hidden nationality promotion if WB in, you need to add it.

So that means Ichabod has every right to complain. Getting Rantine to 8 strength will take longer, but it's not impossible.

Do any lurkers know where Selrahc's wraith came from? Seems it could really kill off his chances for this game

No idea, probably a barrow/graveyard spawned skeleton that won a combat somehow and got promoted this way. All pre-placed units ( except goblin fort garrisons ) were given Held promotion, none of them were undead and barbs can't build skeletons on their own.

No idea either... It is pretty overwhelming to be facing a wraith right now.

The timing is horrible too since there are a lot of barb warriors wandering around now. The early game will be huddled in your cities gaining promo's! The Wraith is a real shitter though on top of the expected barbs...
