I think he's been starting with multiple 3F tiles, and is hence growing his capital. I'll need to check, but I remember someone was up to size 3 or 4 a couple of turns ago.
He may have gotten the immigrants event as well.

I'd guess at 1 free tech, 1 researched tech, 1 extra pop point?
EDIT: Or yeah, even higher population. Pop 4 on T9 sounds really high though.

Huh, I don't know why I thought he was up to size 3. Maybe I'm mixing up my games.
Two people are up to size 2. I'm going worker first because I can't quite break the habit, and I feel like it's a reasonable risk to take with my worker techs on my tech path.
Oh yeah, and snapped a pic from the turn I agreed to that NAP. I'm kinda regretting it now, that was a bad diplomatic decision, I folded too easily, so I hope that's a good sign! I'll still stay calm and try not to compensate with belligerence in other directions.

An overview of what we've revealed thus far. We lost the warrior, at nearly 50% odds. It's probably up to combat 3 now ![frown frown](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif) So, switch to warrior, or finish off the worker and just hope for the best?
Okay, I can't believe it. Gaspar starts with an ancient forest! Meanwhile, of the 5 riverside flatlands we have, 3 are crappy marshes. Man, we really need to settle out to pick up the slack, shame there are so few rivers around here to irrigate aristofarms. Gaspar has some nice riverside land that I could chop into infrastructure... but I signed a freaking 100 turn NAP god what was I thinking

Uh.. we have no units defending the capital and at least one lizard running around? Is that right?
Get a warrior built!

Nah, just the one warrior. It's at 10% fortification right now is that enough to handle a single lizard?
And we've got diplo:
Quote:Hi Nicolae,
Rice for Corn sounds likely fine, though I'm sure you'll build Dereptus before me, so a little extra commerce boost for you. No problems on that end, just mentioning it. We certainly would be interested in a future wines trade as well, should we stumble upon a happiness resource to trade you.
No land at all to your south, huh? Ravus sure wanted us to be cozy. Maybe he doesn't like us. How far do things extend to your east? I can get a city or two north of my capital but its certainly not going to be a lot. Perhaps we should intend to settle west-ish towards other neighbors to avoid border tensions. I want us to work together, but obviously I'm not going to agree to you settling on the borders of my capital, as I would expect you not to agree to as well. Perhaps we can both aim to get one city down towards the other's capital and work in other directions otherwise? I don't have great map info to the south, so I'll probably ask that we refrain from making any formal agreements until I can get myself another scouting unit in that direction or we make a map/screenshot trade.
I do agree you're more likely to be at Bronze Working well before I am, given our Civilization's priorities. We can discuss the likelihood of working out a jungle chop trade when the time comes, but I certainly appreciate the offer. Entirely plausible that I will take you up on it. How are things with the angry Lizardman down there? No combat log so I don't know if Cheech took enough a bite out of him to make him easier for you or just gave him a free C1, hope it was the former.
Not much else going on, so that's all the news to Ljosalfar.
Regards,
Gaspar

Proposed reply:
Quote:Hi Gaspar,
There's no land to my East either, from what I can tell, I'm on the Southeast edge of a giant disc. I understand that you don't want my borders pressing against your capital, but I'm not going to lie and say I don't intend to settle northwards. I expect my first expansion will actually be to the Northwest (in the area where your Cheech got busted by the lizardcops), and my second to the north, as those sites are the easiest to develop and will be in first-ring contact with my capital. I would be fine with a buffer zone extending say 5 tiles from our capital's borders, but beyond that I feel that it's best to let our economic development occur naturally. I agree it's too early to make further border deals.
Thanks,
Nicolae
PS. Sorry for late reply, I've been splitting my time between finishing up some work and playing Terraria, I didn't want to think too hard about FFH ![tongue tongue](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/RBOld/tongue.gif)

Wait a second, I just did a quick count and there are like 10 spaces between capitals. Lucky I haven't sent off the email!
Crafting came in. Here some pics:

I really want a city to the north now, hopefully on the hill as we need the riversides and so it will 2nd ring the bananas. Unfortunately, I'd expect Gaspar to get 1 city to 1st ring the bananas, as it's closer to him and he'll want to the food surplus to feed cottages (in the short term).
Not sure if I'm making a mistake or an unreasonable risk here what with a lizardman running around, but I'm working the 2/0/2 wines instead of the 2/1/0 forest to speed me to mining. Also, I think it would be worth going agriculture and exploration before bronze-working. What say you Selrahc?

If we don't have a rush target lined up, there is no real concern about delaying Bronze Working a little. Agriculture and Exploration will both be useful and quick to research.
