Turn 15:

Grew to size 3, and finished sheep pasture. Decided to build a 4-turn worker. Could've easily kept growing, but it would've been onto unimproved tiles.

One turn of road because that was the only thing I could do, and then will start on the other sheep pasture next turn.

These turns have been flying by so fast I haven't really had a chance to mess around with the sandbox micro at all. I guess that is one of the only flaws of playing five turns in one day.

After BW, the decision is whether to try to found a religion (or two), or grab Pottery. The capital doesn't need a granary for another 35+ turns because the plan right now is to avoid the whip. And I don't plan on putting any cottages up there either until around T50-60 when the happy increases and I start growing and using a different city for worker/settler production. But my next few cities should get granaries ASAP, so I am not sure how long I can delay pottery to grab a religion.

Right now the plan is to finish the worker EOT 18. At that time, the second sheep pasture should be finished. While building another warrior, I can grow to size 4 in two turns. Then the question is whether to start producing my first settler, which would finish EOT 24-25, or grow to size 5 in two more turns and produce the first settler to finish EOT ~26 while working two mines? My loose plan after finishing the sheep is to make a grass-hill river mine (with a forest chop into a settler), and a plains hill river mine. Work those at size 5 while producing an endless stream of settlers/workers. The other option would be to sacrfice 1 production and a work a flood plains cottage. It would probably reduce the amount of settlers/workers produced by a whole unit over 35-40 turns, but would produce a flood plains village.

I still think CoL and Phil make good long term tech goals, as Caste allows a SPI to fake CRE and Phil allows a SPI to fake PHI.

Hopefully in the next five turns, I should have enough defogged to make a decent dotmap for the first settler.

Well, the turn is in and I'm wearing the GES hat right now. Eastern scouting continues, and (surprise) no seafood:

The lion in the previous turn report moved to 1S of the warrior. Here's that screenshot for reference:

Chatted with GES as I was playing the turn, and I told him he had 90% odds on an attack on the lion. He could ignore it and defend at pretty much the same odds, or attack and possibly get extra XP for a 10% risk of losing the warrior. So he approved the attack, and:

Craziness. The lion of course won 9 rounds out of 11 to score the kill, so western scout is gone. Very annoying, but not the end of the world considering the west is pretty well scouted at this point. Demos:

Turn 18:

Worker finished EOT. Plan is to send him to the grass hill, chop and put that onto a settler who begins once we reach size 5 (in four turns) while sending the worker from the sheep pasture (due EOT of T19) to make a plains hill mine on his way to pasturing pigs at city 2.

Bronze Working in EOT and will immediately revolt to slavery, not that it will be used immediately.

IMPORTANT QUESTION: Pottery or Mysticism onto hopefully founding a religion?

My guess is the EXP civ hasn't finished a 3rd food tile yet, so that is good. They might be chopping a granary.

I'd say pottery. You can have your new cities build granaries while they grow, which really helps speed up growth. And if you settle on the plains hill by the pigs, it won't immediately need border pop. Also I don't think you need to be too worried about getting an early religion- if you can't get one then there's still plenty of time to grab Confucianism or Taoism.

Another suggestion I have is to wait on revolting into slavery until after the first settler is finished. Maybe not even then.

Why wait? We are SPI. Is it more expensive?

Ah, i forgot about being spiritual. But yeah, slavery is slightly more expensive, so you might shave off a few coins on maintenance by waiting until you need it.

Second sheep pastured. New worker moves onto GH mine.
