Actually, come to think of it, was the duel/death match league in simul? Or was that pbem/pitboss. Sorry about the offensive language, but to me anything that plays less than 100 turns in a day isn't simul

Simul turn / sequential turn is just a game setting. And it's independent of whether you are playing a fast game on gamespy, or a slower PB or PBEM (you can do PBs both ways, and you can do online/gamespy games both ways too). So I think it's understandable that people would interpret what you said differently from how you meant it. Anyway, it was just a miscommunication, no need to fight about what is the "correct" terminology, right?

As to the matter at hand, I'm sorry I just automatically think of it as pb and didn't even consider that you might be thinking of something else. Sorry!

I think the duel league was PBEM, and no, I don't think theres been any major push for ganespy. games - there is a chatroom somewhere, though.

Tell me one simul turns game realms beyond has done

They are more show up and play games than organized but sometimes they get proposed in the multiplayer thread that used to be on this board somewhere. Sullla did a writeup of 1-2 of the earlier gamespy games on his site and someone usually gives a summary of the game they played in more recently.

I guess I refer to it as simul because I've played it on gamespy, hamachi, and direct IP, so to me its not just a 'gamespy' game

still, I can understand the confusion, because Pitbosses are also simul turn and turn timer. (just a much longer turn timer )

I played probably 1500-2000 multiplayer games with a simultaneous timer (how else would you play mp?), and never once referred to them as "simul turn" or anything like that.

Online duels are fine as seq turn. I played one against Bob once.
