You can also see I've thrown myself down the Judaism path. Starting from order of least-useless tech. Not that I really want Masonry right now for anything, but it's better than Polytheism.

Creative border pops for Krovice. Going to be annoying creating a border with them cause of that. They'll have a huge advantage if 2nd rings overlap (and heaven help me if we have a 1st-2nd ring overlap, that might force war).
What everyone's doing:
Since it's on the way, I'm going to go scout out Whosit's copper and see if he's connected it. Useful info for city plants.

Dangit:
This barb is in a somewhat annoying place cause it'll raze my mine if it moves south. I'm going to log back in and fiddle, I might just have to move the capital warrior NE, which disrupts the warrior stream-timing down south cause of happiness concerns.
I should have moved the warrior you see in the center of the screen to the capital, then capital warrior north east, but I didn't notice this barb until after I moved the first warrior.

Am otherwise on track. First cottage completes in 2t, just as capital grows onto it. City 4 will be founded t49. Gronk grows to size 2 next turn so GNP will get a boost from the gold. Polytheism->Monotheism is the tech path. Crossing fingers for Judaism (need to make up for razing the Jewish Holy City as Germany early on in PB13...)

Overview shot:
1st cottage completes next turn, capital grows onto it.
That's a warrior and a worker on that Jungle Hill down south
I have good city sites in all directions. I think post-(hopeful)-Judaism I'm going to tech AH-Fishing-Sailing whilst settling as fast and furiously as possible. My land is good enough that the more-settlers-and-workers wonder seems like the best bet.
The only consideration is the oracle. If by the time Sailing is about to come in no one has taken it I'll probably run at it, since I'll be 1 tech off of Priesthood, need Priesthood anyway for a Great Prophet, and want to settle the Marble island anyhow.
Whosit hasn't settled the copper. This is good.

Got a peek into Whosit's capital, now I'm heading down to the south of Krovice
Def out-opening him by a lot right now. I have 1 extra city, my 2nd city is almost certainly equal/better since it's existed for like 5+ more turns, and my capital is larger + has a granary already. Exp/Pro ftw.
Roading in the jungle. Will whip settler next turn, move following, then found on the third for city#4 on t49
Barbarian up north has turned south again. This time I'm ready for him
Who ends up strong down south I think is going to strongly depend on who chooses to aim at which land. I think Whosit is at a pretty large disadvantage here, he's got three close neighbors to deal with and only ok, not amazing-omg-whee starting land.
Compare this (greennn)
To this, slightly nearer Whosit, to the east of the shot before
So much less green. Natural organic expansion will probably result in Cheater Hater grabbing most of the green stuff and Whosit those plains (and some greener stuff to his east in Krovice's direction). I think that results in a weak whosit. Whosit I think needs to strongly push aggressive expansion towards either Krovice or CH and get more than his fair share. And I don't leave myself out of there out of self interest, the stuff in between us is either pretty mediocre or I've already taken it (hey, so far only the parts wayyy closer to me). (So far).

Mankins founded
Player Profile Logan Mankins, #70, OG
The ultimate tough guy. I named this city after Mankins because it almost certainly will be my frontline against Whosit, and one can't do much better than Mankins for holding the line (ok he's actually was meh last season, oh well). The best anecdote I have about Mankins is his 2011 injury situation. In the first game of the 2011 season Mankins tore the ACL in his right leg. To most players, this injury is automatically, CLEARLY season ending. In fact, just a decade ago an ACL injury could signal the end of a career. Mankin's reaction? He told no one until after the season and just kept playing.
It gets better. In the divisional round of the playoffs Mankins tore the MCL in his OTHER leg. He again, told no one, and just continued to play on two basically non-functioning legs for the AFC championship and superbowl. That is resilience.
Anyway, civ wise, here's an overview shot:

4 turns to Judaism. Come on Come on Come on. This lovely green foody land + a religion should set me up really well for the midgame. Down the line this is going to be something like 200+ gpt. Additionally, any of the cities currently eligible for the Holy City would be great, expanding my borders against either Krill or Whosit. In all the sims Gronk seemed to get the Holy City, not sure if that is reliable or just chance.

that is stupid. its a good story, but coaches cant be happy when the star ignores injuries in the regular season. Superbowl on the other hand, sure, but an acl all season? stupid.
holy city is weighted random chance based on city size, and with the capital strongly handicapped. would you prefer to have your holy city on krills border or elsewhere?
