Giedi Prime reclaimed:

There is pindicator's 1-move stack heading away.

And here is part of dtay's attack force roaming pind's Southern coast:

Research completed on Engineering and I started on Gunpowder - due in 3t.

So how do you want to play things going forward? Do we try and grab a few of pind's cities, or do we sue for peace and consider whether to throw in our lot with him against dtay?

Here's something to consider:

Our best hope for long-term survival is that DTay is not our neighbor.

So I think we cash out a peace deal with pind, and send a stack east. I can't see pind turning on us down the line if we actively contribute troops to his defense, and we should be in a stronger situation at the end of it than he is.

Agreed.

I'll log in tonight and offer him an exorbitant Peace deal and see what he comes back with. Then we OB and see what we can do against dtay.

I've got a couple of Settlers queued to plug the gaps around Giedi, but the rest is on military.

So I double-moved pindicator. He'd mentioned that he's got projects due and finals, etc. and has been very late in playing the turns. I'm guessing he's not very positive about this game at the moment either.

I didn't make any move against him anyway and spent a turn consolidating in Giedi Prime. Upgraded a bunch of Spears to Pike and queued up a few more Knights. Bringing the Galleys around the South and will load up some troops.

I've offered Peace to pindicator for a bunch of his gold and enough gpt to cover us at 100% Science. He might not take it, but at least he knows we're willing to negotiate. Once we've signed Peace I'll ask for OB and we'll send the army in to see what we can do against dtay.

Any thoughts about tech plan after Gunpowder?

Rifling and Communism seem like the next two "big techs" for us.

Not sure if there's something more immediate - FM isn't worth the anarchy if we're switching to State in the not-too-distant future.

I feel fairly confident in predicting that a (possibly extended) pause will be required at the end of this turn - primarily because dtay has yet to play and we're over 50% of the way through. He's playing in PB22 though, so maybe it's a time/effort thing, or he just hasn't realised the turn rolled.

Anyway, I was planning to play after him as well to keep things sensible, but since we'll not be at war for a few turns anyway, I don't think that's really needed at this stage. I'll be playing tonight whether he's played or not - particularly since pind is now behind us.

Anyway, just musing. Will queue up the "rush" to Rifling and see how long it'll take...

An eternity and a half. But we're not going to win with muskets and knights against Cav and rifles, and drafting rifles at 2 pop per is a great way to wreck our long-term productivity.

Feel free to disagree with me if the numbers are nonsensical.

And I think we're going to have very slow turns until January.

Well, 1t Gunpowder, 5t PPress, 9t RepParts, 14t Rifling ... that will go down obviously as we get along the track and the known civ bonus goes up.

We're at Peace BTW, and I offered OB to pind and moved most of the army up to his borders; hopefully he gets the message that we want to help out (and help ourselves).

Oh, and I noticed this from BGN:

From something I posted in his thread. lol

Didn't see any reason why not, so I accepted.

I had missed the finharry declaration on dtay last turn (one less spoiler to hold on to!):

Oh, and the comment about Diseased Crab Cakes made me lol

This appears to be the War front:

Haven't caught sight of dtay's forces yet though. Our army is a couple of turns move behind, with a string of Sentries running out to find the front.
