[SPOILERS] HitAnyKey's Thread for the Jumbled Masses of Crap within his Brain

Honestly, I'm probably the other extreme with regard to wonders, regarding the opportunity cost as too great, especially for early wonders like Stonehemge--of course, being Industrious in PB18 means I have to change that, right? mischief

Any updates? What turn are we at, and how fast are the turns going?

Real quick update before bed. Things are going ok, turns are moving pretty quickly.
Here's the overview after having just settled city #3 this turn:

I don't really have much of a plan at the moment. Next turn I get Pottery, so will make a cottage on the tile 1E of where the southern worker is. The northern workers will finish their farm and then make a cottage somewhere up there.
A barb just showed up, and I expect my Axe will kill it next turn if it moves closer. I'm also way behind in military, so will be ramping that up next as well.
After Pottery, I'm going Writing (so I can build Libraries) and decide if I want to backfill earlier techs (such as Hunting so my Scout can move faster) or beeline for something after Writing.

So we have a bit of a problem. I sent one of my Axemen a few tiles north of the mountains to kill a Warrior that had approached....and Seven apparently had a Chariot nearby....he declared war, and killed it. And immediately did a diplo for a Cease Fire...which I declined for the moment. Mainly because he has pissed me off. He declared war in the beginning with his scout to get sight of my capital (offering peace immediately) and now yet again to snipe an Axe.
When I saw the Chariot last turn, I switched us to Hunting to so we could produce Spearmen. But we don't get it until beginning of next turn, at which point all my cities will make a Spear. Hopefully it'll be in time before he sends the Chariot down to destroy my new city.

Don't worry, when you have an overly-aggressive/opportunistic neighbor, you come back and punish them even harder--or at least that's what happened to me in PBEM 58 frown

I'd say drop everything to kill Seven, but you've wasted a lot of time between religion and Stonehenge, and over-committing will almost certainly doom you to mediocrity for the rest of the game since you'll be so far behind in actual development.

Yeah, as much as I'd like to drop everything to kill him too, I don't think it's in the cards. The other problem....so far I haven't seen a single sight of any Horses. This does not bode well, at the moment. My scout is finally reaching the southern fog now (and can finally move 2 spaces), so hopefully I can find some horses down there that I can direct my expansion towards.
I'll try to give a full update tomorrow night. I have beach volleyball tonight, so won't be able to.
Also, there's a small chance I might need to ask you to play a turn over the weekend. I'm leaving Friday (straight from work) for a wedding in MI and won't be back until Sunday night. I'll be bringing the laptop and external HD, so should be able to play, but one never knows.

Of course, if I'm going to play a turn, I need to have an idea of what's going on--right now all I know is that Seven hates us and we have both Stonehenge and religion, but not much else :/

Yeah, that's about all you need to know. LOL
I'll post an update tomorrow night in between packing for the weekend. smile

Ok, here's the update. First a handful of screenshots:

I got the two northern workers building the mine. After they are done, haven't thought about where to send them. Maybe start making more cottages or farms or pre-chopping some forests. Would like to save any future chops for after Math.
The other worker is making a farm.
Seven has a Chariot somewhere near his borders up there, which he used to kill my Axe. He's researching Archery right now, and just before that had finished Iron Working. So I do think I need to get ready to beef up military just in case he's planning something.

Whether or not Madrid should start the Settler before it finishes the Library, I'm not sure yet. I still have no clue where I might want a next city. This land layout is very weird.

Barcelona is working on it's infrastructure currently.

And Seville just produced it's Work Boat and now has to do it's Granary.

And here's the Demo's:

For the scout in the south, just pick something that seems logical for a direction. There is a Lion that I see, so just be careful. We could probably even move onto the forest hill next to the lion (if it doesn't move onto the hill itself) for the lion to then attack the scout and hopefully die.

I'll have access to email/forum, so any questions, just let me know. My email is this username at gmail.

I think you definitely want a settler in Madrid--the library isn't doing that much until you get some cottages down--how many workers do we have by the way?

I'm surprised we're first in GNP, even though I'm sure lot of that is coming from Stonehenge's culture--we're still above-average discounting that at least. How long does it take to get to Math at break-even?

So, will you be around for the next turn (scheduled to roll around this time tomorrow), or do I have to play that? For that matter, from what I understood in the tech thread we were going to pause over the weekend for other people?

At airport for my connecting flight now. Looking at civstats I should be available tomorrow morning before timer runs out but feel free to log in and take a look around.
I have not calculated time for mathematics.
