First shot at a start:

Researched BW first. It's impossible to get our first worker going straight from farming the corn to chopping a forest, we either need to delay worker (working the suboptimal) unimproved corn, wait one turn before chopping or then waste a turn just moving the worker. Here I decided to instead move to the grass hill and finish mining that to be in a good position to later improve the cow. Started warrior after initial worker, but switched to second worker when grew (one turn from completing the warrior). Chopped two forests into the settler who is ready to go on t28.
We should be able to do better than this though...

How did you open the sandbox? When I click at the link I just get a bunch of text.

Right-click -> save as, and put it in your beyond the sword/Saves/Worldbuilder directory. then you can open via "Single Player -> Play a Scenerio"

My version. I went hunt first, then to BW. One more chop and some overflow after settler. There is an extra forest I forgot to wb out. I'm not too fond of spending workerturns super early to a mine when we already have an equal tile.

I also tried out going worker-grow-settler s3. Managed to get the settler built T26 with one chop.

Good morning!
I had planned to do some sim:ing yesterday evening, but felt a bit tired so went for a nap at 7pm. Woke up this morning just in time to prepare for going to work crazyeye

Two questions:
1. How much overflow did you get from the settler in the first version?
2. Am I correct in that you finished the farm, the pasture, one chop and nothing else in the settler t26 version?

I agree that the gh mine in my first version is far from optimal as there hasn't been any use for it so far, but neither am I a fan of chopping for the sake of chopping (those hammers I want to speed up workers, settlers, granaries or possibly libraries). That t26 settler does sound quite intriguing, but of course we'll badly need workers afterwards (chop+whip?).

Tech path wise we'll have to decide eventually whether going for pottery (dumping growth turns into granary + putting extra worker turns into cottages) or AH [pimping our 3rd best capital tile + finding horses (which we'll generally want much earlier in mp if possible)] is more worthwhile.

We also want to to decide whether we can send the scout somewhere where he could see something that'll make us not settle in place.

Good morning too and have a nice work day!

1. need to take a look, iirc 19 hammers overflow and prod combined
2. You're correct except for 1T into a plain farm fwiw mischief

I didn't give too much thought to techpath after hun-BW, but actually AH earlier sounds strong to get better dot map and more prod.

Re: scout, the problem is, we don't even know where our scout is (or is it just on the top of the settler?). I wouldn't move away from our food if there isn't another food to replace it. And while non-boatable capital would be safer, there is also some economic advantage to have some coast tiles; you get the multipliers for your trade routes.

on top of settler, yeah

First off, a big THANK YOU to GermanJoey and BRick for reading our threads and not just the tech-thread and answering questions here thumbsup

Secondly:

Thanks for reminding me! Eventually that might actually contribute to a fair bit of research in our bureau-cap (I presume).
On the off chance that there's a fish 2NW from the settler I guess we could still consider settling on the plains, but otherwise I have a hard time seeing what could be found to not sip (but it's still something we could consider of course).

Did a sim just now with going wheel after hunting. If there's a good second city to our west this might be an option.

Both workers here can have their chops come in next turn or they can be delayed by mining in between.
(there's also an option of getting the settler on t27, but that's without finishing the first warrior beforehand so probably too risky)
