[spoilers] Boldly Global Warming - Viva la revolución Industrial!!

You got Org factories to look forward to at least...

How come you have so much gold? Have you been rush-buying anything?

The Company is very profitable for everyone involved. That's the point of hiding your assets, every cent you don't have to pay taxes on is an inherently more profitable resource pool for your investments. Ergo, straight cash homey.

Hide your kids, hide your wife, they're taxing everyone up in here, amirite?

No rush buying. Most research has been via bulbs and I didn't finely tune things. Mostly I was able to get the research amount needed by running specialists and saving gold. Now that I can't bulb to get factories I'll need to spend the modest gpt. Having a bit of a bankroll is a nice safety blanket in case I need to upgrade in a pinch.

Some fighting over Gaspar/Noble's ruins. I think 9 WW so some unit losses.

REM with another cheap city. I don't see how he doesn't win this TBH. He's made it to civic swaps so he can draft enough rifles to protect what he's grabbed. I would have had to completely torpedo myself (worse than I have already done) to raze a few cities while he was vulnerable before he could fire the GA to swap civics. But he's certainly been able to fire the GA for a while now so really I could have at best killed maybe two cities out of the fog with hammers I could ill afford to spare to build the units to put on galleys.

I'm grabbing what free territory I can and I have decent hammers to build units to back up the claims. This was city #5.

City #6. So much for spacing them out for efficient use of worker labor.

Could as easily have been me. I guess they saw the build up as I did and decided they'd rather play to win than not to die and just hope the stack was coming for someone else. Can't blame them, really. Shouldn't be long until they pivot in my direction. I'm weak but did start drafting this turn finally. Only 5 more turns for cheap rifle drafts. Then infantry and factories. My expansion was just too slow and now I have a huge labor shortage with too few workers. I have plenty of trees to chop into factories but I'm struggling to keep improved tiles. The draft should help some on that at least.

This is far from my best play but I can't be bothered. I wasn't anticipating a true solo game and I'm really half-assing it. Too bad for you guys but that's how it is.

You know, way back in PB8 I had a despairing moment when I considered declaring war on everyone. Then, I pulled myself up by my bootstraps, wrote a ton of bad checks to finance the most heinous parties you could have imagined, then rode off into obscure irrelevancy when the bills came due. Most of this isn't true, but there's probably a valuable lesson here for you, if you're creative enough to invent one out of the fabrication I've provided. You're welcome!

A couple factories complete EoT. I've flashed an infantry unit at Pin and at Dreylin. I'll draft a couple more next turn and then swap civics back for better economy for a few turns. We have stacked up draft anger so need a few turns for that to cool down. The capital should 1 turn a coal plant and then go gangbusters building...something. Probably need to finish settling what is available.

Now that we aren't the flimsiest army in the world I feel a little safer doing this again.

Third factory done this turn. I did a little wheeling and dealing for luxuries and, combined with hooking up silver in my most recent city, scraped together enough happiness to survive the -2 happy hit from leaving Nationalism. Within three turns the happy crunch will subside as the first drafts come off the books. Capital is completing the coal plant this turn and is now a hammer monster. It will churn out some settlers in quick order and fill in the rest of the map.

In foreign events, I think I've made it clear I'm not a soft target so OT4E/Dreylin can look elsewhere. They have enough land, now they need to hang onto it. REM is feeling a little vulnerable, I think. He offered an OB deal again and if I'm remembering right (I just clicked through offers because I'm not all that invested) he gave me a favorable luxury trade too. I have enough troops that I could possibly cause him some trouble in a soft coastal city, or force him to fire a GA (I'm guessing he's been smart and has saved the possibility of swapping civics in an emergency) before he's ready. But I need to finish expansion first before I'm irrevocably behind.

DZ is looking pretty weak right now. I'm hopeful I can get the entire island between us.

How's your expansion plan going so far? Do you need more city names? mischief
