Turn played and rolled.

crashed to desktop   there was a brief pop-up that said something like "the save you are trying to load is ....." about 10 more words that I didn't have time to read before the window closed.

I believe the rest of it goes "... being a pain the in ass"

Nope, I pasted the mod into the Steam/etc/etc/etc/Mods  I promise I actually loaded the map in game when I was helping make it. ... I promise

There are actually 3 mod folders   I now have the mod located at all of the following:

• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Mods
  
• C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods
  
• ...\My Games\beyond the sword\MODS
  

Still unsuccessful. The mod 2.0.8.4 shows in the upper right on the main menu, Direct IP login is successful, after selecting China from the list and putting in the civ  password the transferring data bar goes across and completes, at that point I get the crash above.

Oh well, at least I wasn't trying to actually play! I'll just stick to

You need to delete (or rename) the second and third of that list. Then have another try!

Or is it the first and second third?
