[SPOILERS] Xenu Succeeds, BGN Fails! - RB's First Pitboss Succession Game

Persia has hunting and agriculture, chariots that get defensive bonus, and a fancy grocer. I think the techs are enough to not risk trying for a third place, possibly twice-discarded alternate.

Mardoc, executive decision made to KEEP Persia.

BGN I know you just played CHA, though, interested in it again?  I was hoping for SPI, the flexibility makes it fun to play and CHA certainly has its uses.

For CHA, I think IMP is a stronger trait pairing. SPI and CHM are going to be terribly slow starting. We may end up in a hole and have no time to spare for building Mids or getting a religion.

It is certainly a more fun combo but only if we get Mids and have civics we want to deal into. More likely I think we are too far behind the veteran players of we go that route.

When you played Mao before was it BTS or RtR? Plays very differently. Much improved IMO.

I'm getting autocorrected to death typing on my phone. So annoying.

Civ password is dawgs if UGA wins today. You pick if your ginger jort wearing bastards win.

I'm fine with Persia, mostly because playing with immortals could be entertaining.

Will have to think about leaders, I'm on mobile now. SPI isn't fast but you do save the revolt turns which isn't nothing. And CHA means whip the hell out of your people....

We are the veteran players now! We can build the pyramids if we want to. Like every other game it's situational, you can want it in every game but maybe the timing doesn't work or you have other priorities. But there's no reason to rule it out before we even get started. If we think we have a shot at them we can take the shot. If not we can chop out 500 hammers of immortals instead. hammer

It's been so long I don't remember, I'll have to go back and check. But yes, BTS Mao is trash (like real life Mao). RtR Mao is very good.

How's your pregame going? I'm disappointed that it's an hour from kickoff and I just got home from running a bunch of errands. I may not have time to be drunk ready before kickoff at this rate. cry

Edit: Turned the TV on, this is beautiful. Clemson is up 38-0 on FSU. No matter what happens in TWLOCP I'll at least have a fallback of being happy about this game. lol

Mardoc, what's our timing on getting the picks in? I don't want to hold things up but I'd like to try out both Mao and Brennus on our start. Given that this is a boozy Saturday, though, I'm not sure when I'll be able to make a viable run at it.

A quadruple!  Don't look now (yes look now) but the poll updated and we're definitely losing this game, which means I win!   neenerneener dancing

It depends? I'm not requiring any particular timing. It's just that my time is lumpy, so if you delay things past ~ this time tomorrow then the game probably won't start til Friday. OTOH, that's not a huge delay, and it's always possible I can find just a little time in the evening to edit in civs. There is at least one reroll, so there needs to be time for third round picks in addition to this pick, which needs to include whichever leader you throw back.

You're one of three not yet decided in the second round, so you're not holding things up yet.
