Sure, not a problem, I just didn't want to jostle ye olde elbow while there was a war on. By the 23rd we really ought to know if the angels are even still alive.

I've a feeling there will be a war on from now until the end. Borders are just too close. But I'll keep my eyes open, if there's a lull between now and next week, I can hand them off early, no problem.

We're totally alive! Ilios killed off the last two axes, as expected, but now both him and plako have retreated out of sight, without doing us any more damage. I guess they don't quite trust each other after all, we just stuck our heads into a no mans' land.
Which means we can create our fourth Valk, and our fourth Paladin, and go back to static defending while we rebuild. Or something.
Oh, and a fun little detail: guess who's no longer got any leader traits?
Anyway, I've proposed to Commodore that in between emergencies like this might be the right time to transfer control back to him, we'll see if he's got time. And of course it's not like I'll be going anywhere, if you've got questions, Mr. O'Dore.

So, I guess the main question for this turn is: try to keep Amatheon's, or abandon it? All our strong units are out of there. I expected to lose it so it doesn't have any hawks, which is why we've lost vision on Plako. I assume he's just repositioning himself to hit it next turn. So if we want to save it, we need enough power to withstand 6 strength 20+ earth elementals. I suspect that'll just be throwing units away, but maybe I'm being too pessimistic.
For the paladin upgrade: since we don't seem to be in immediate danger, I'd promote to confessor first. And maybe keep as a confessor to gather passive xp, until we know what we need that paladin to do.
If we are abandoning Amatheon's, Junil's Justice might benefit from a palisade.

Defend it with Basium and Valkyries, and we can have our cake and eat it too. Decent chance of holding, don't really lose anything if we don't.

I forgot about the angels when disbanding him. If I hadn't done that, surely Plako would have killed him with an earth elemental, gotten no xp, and Commodore would have gotten an extra 13xp angel (potential Ophanim upgrade!). Oh well.
Eurabatres in fact cannot fly. The downside is that this means we can't conquer Thoth. But there is a huge, huge upside: he can use roads. Promote him to Commando, and he can use enemy roads. And with a mobility promotion he'll be a 12-mover along roads.
That's all in the future, though. This turn, I had him kill an elephant wandering the wilderness:
It was enough to get him a second promotion. I promoted him to Drill I, and I'll give him mobility I next turn. He's now in reach of Ilios's size 12 city, guarded by a single warrior. He can also reach that peak by Cauldron Lake, which will allow him to hit the city each turn without possibility of counterattack. The best possible scenario is for Bob/Ellimist to mount the "million warrior defense", and allow Eurabatres to accrue some decent xp.
It's probably a pipe dream, but if we had time to get him well-promoted, we could conceivably threaten Plako just by sending him in solo. Enough drill and combat promotions, and the earth elementals ought to just bounce right off.
Since we're holding Amatheon's for now, I put a hawk back there and took a gander at Plako:
Looks like he's just holding position. That node is now set to enchantment. Maybe he is going for a tower victory.
Not much else to report. Finished feudalism, and we'll 1-turn stirrups next turn. Avelorn finished the heroic epic, and can now 1-turn rathas. Building rathas in Kwythellar and Naggarond.
Since I didn't have anything to do, I tried out the infernal Grimoire. Looks like it does cast wonder. This turn, we got a spectre:
Since it's a disposable unit, I flew it up to help defend Amatheon's.

It's similar to Wonder, but much less versatile:
20% summon Spectre
20% caster gains Unholy Taint promotion
20% cast Wither
10% summon Pit Beast
10% cast Burning Blood
10% caster gains Demon promotion
10% caster is killed outright

We are making sure the Grimore caster is being properly shunned, right?
