Stuff happens, no recriminations man.
That being said, should we set the timer to 168 hours to ease the pausing for the weekly turn?

Yes, something seems broken right now with this game. Maybe it's time for the 48 hour timer? I think it's inevitable, since in a split you just can't find time to play a complex turn in any given 12 hours of real life.

That's 3 in favour of extending the turn timer, anyone against?

FYI, turn has rolled.
I am in favor of 36 hours at this point, to minimize the additional clicks we all may have to go through to save time for ourselves/others. It would be cool if we can maintain the 24 hour mindset for as long as possible, though the sun is beginning to set on that possibility as the turns get more involved.
The last two issues with Gavagai and Plako were a bit out of the ordinary, so hopefully we will be getting back to regular turns for awhile.

Yeah, it's been chronic pauses for a while now. I agree with DZ, let's try a 36hr timer and see how it goes.

I set the timer to 36 hours starting next turn. But please try to play as if the timer is still 24 hours if at all possible.

We will need a pause this turn and a permanent sub for BGN. Explanation delivered in character, per his thread and city naming schemes:
Quote:There is Absolutely Collusion in his household to deliver their second child at the very first moment when he passed me in score. He claims this was natural but I think it was A TOTALLY RIGGED EVENT, completely unfair to me, and now he is quitting while he's ahead of me in score. Shameful, SAD. VERY UNFAIR TO XENU!
He told me he had planned to have a more graceful exit from the game but the little one is a bit over a week early, so nothing to be done about that. Personally I think his neighbors should just dogpile and eliminate him so that his score isn't higher than mine, but I shouldn't advocate for that....
So...please pause for this turn until someone can play this turn for his civ and presumably get login info. And any volunteers should stop by his thread to claim the civ. And then of course immediately whip a few population to lower your score, as of now he's only 2 points ahead of me so that should be manageable! Thanks!

Thanks. Password is in first post. When I can clear out the visitors and mom and baby sleep I can give an update for the new player. Sorry for leaving suddenly, I thought I'd have another week to set up a smooth transition.

Congrats!
Let's hope we can all get over our BGN Derangement Syndrome and proceed with an orderly handover.
