Commodore and I made a deal whereby I gave him back Brythunia so that I'm not flirting with 60% of world population (currently dropping, now back to 60.5% or so, but I'm planning to drop several settlers over the next few turns...) and we sign open borders so I still have the strategic flexibility (not that I expect to need it...) of being able to go through that city. Also, it gives us both a trade route boost, though that will likely benefit him more than me, on further consideration.
He's kept his word in voting for me in the UN, not that I actually expected him not to... hopefully, this game will be a wrap shortly.
I've turned our industrial might towards infrastructure, partly because I figure what gets built doesn't enormously matter. I'm building Hollywood in Barad-Dur for the sheer hell of it. Also, Commodore's cities are starting to come out of revolt and I need to bring them, as well as the new cities which are pretty much just replacing GES's cities that we burned, online.
... and yeah, that's the turn... and the past couple ones, really, too.

Commodore and I seem to have gotten into a bit of a settling race in GES's former land. If we weren't seeking to wrap this game up shortly, I'd be inclined to pursue it a lot more aggressively. As it is, I think we'll be seeing a certain amount of culture-war in our new settlements, but that's about it. (He's got one that I placed more or less surrounded, but it's on the shortest border growth path to two of his cities. As long as it doesn't start losing on the culture front against them, in the long run, it would almost certainly flip both.
(Maybe I'll have a picture for you next week...)
I sent Commodore a warning note, and hopefully he doesn't take it the wrong way. I'd really like to catch him on IM sometime, though. He was on this afternoon, but put up the DND sign citing actually needing to do work.
As for diplomatic victory, I seem to be losing a little more ground, but I'm pretty stable at 58% or so, I'd say. Yuris is still poking along toward a culture victory. Maybe I should transfer some boats over so that I can quickly strike at his highest-culture cities if he gets too close. (I think he still needs around 10x his current culture in each of those cities, but I'm not entirely sure about gain rate.)
I'm mostly (but not entirely...) building infrastructure, though, because I'm not terribly clear on what I'd do with military. I should check the power graphs next turn to see how they compare. I fully expect that, if the fecal matter hit the rotary air circulation system, we could crashbuild an army to outnumber and outgun them in a couple turns at most, even ignoring the current random military units scattered around. I should check my assumptions on that, though.

Looks like your resolution comes in this turn.

Yup; just put in for ruler of the universe, I mean diplomatic victor of the UN.
I feel like I should make a final UN-thread announcement, but I'm just not feeling creative.

Apparently, however, the vote results don't come in until next turn at the earliest... I got the turn back and haven't seen results yet.

At the end of last turn, Barad-dur finished its 18th wonder, birthed its (our) 14th great person, and became legendary. Good note to end the game on.

I would like to note that we not only have the Eiffel Tower, but we also have every single media wonder. *pimp*
I will have to make a note about the "based on a true story" movie coming out soon about how the world was united by the civilization of Middle Earth.
Sadly, Commodore, being first to the turn, got to watch the victory video. That seems ... a little goofy.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see the video either, although if you want to see the end-game stuff I can send along my save.

I think I may have seen it before, but thanks.
