[SPOILERS] scooter Expands the Empire Across the Sea

I had no more whipping power towards the end, and being the sole one to try and hold you guys back ForEvER, had built up a bit of whip anger/actual anger. Along with Bing being somehow super far behind, cairo doing nothing but stacking units on our border, and yuri taking a long time to get into it.. it was hopeless.
"Superdeath seems to have acquired a rep for aggression somehow. [Image: noidea.gif] In this game that's going to help us because he's going to go to the negotiating table with twitchy eyes and slightly too wide a grin and terrify the neighbors into favorable border agreements, one-sided tech deals and staggered NAPs."

We were pretty surprised by how long Yuris kept holding out hope that a dogpile could really do anything, especially when relatively few people seemed to want to build power to face us with. There is a window after frigates and before metal boats where naval parity could have mattered if our rivals had been closer to us in tech, but we were far enough ahead that such a window was pretty small, and it would have taken a lot to really set us back far enough that someone else could catch up before we got metal boats.

Losing Liberalism was incredibly annoying and my biggest screwup all game. It definitely extended the game by several weeks IMO. This was back in October and I sandbagged too much and missed by 1T. Had I landed it, that's Steel like 20T sooner.

Yeah this was my read. It seemed like you and Yuris never got on the same page about things. You wanted to just go all-in with the tech you had the minute you got to chemistry, and Yuris wanted to preserve his economy to get another tech or two first. It's tough trying to split the difference because there is a window like Zed-F said where my naval tech edge isn't THAT big, but the closer I get to MGs and Destroyers, the more over it is. Although to be fair, I was privately saying the game was over the minute I got to Chemistry. It sort of looks like you agreed with me from reading your thread.
