Fair, and I will update.
"No food" needs to be reserved for the SW desert. Although if that is (IMP/CRE) greenline, it will form a natural barrier between us - we can compete to /not/ settle it. I have a feeling that pink dotting the Wheat would go pretty badly.
Note to self - need to refresh myself on timing of 3rd ring pop for CRE capital.
I'm not going to dance around, and Jake will go meet them on the coming turn; with NoScore on, I need to meet them to understand city counts. If it is greenline, that's a mixed bag; Cathy of Sumeria is kinda scary, but OTOH greenline is mid to low on the scary scale for opponents.

Also no seafood off the Rice.

Border pops are 5 and 50 (although 51 with slavery swap) for normal civs, 3 and 25 for CRE.

Thanks for confirming.
One of those things where I thought I knew the answer but had to spend a bit of time thinking. And then I remembered to check the Land numbers in the demographhics page for confirmation. So these are greenline's 3rd-ring borders - not that it makes a whole lot of difference!
I also thought a bit then decided to keep all my EP directed towards Ginger since I'm already half-way to his graphs.

I went to explore greenline's borders, but he had a Warrior sitting where I put the sign. Discretion, etc., etc.
Since he also started with Ag/Wheel, he may well be planning to settle in this direction towards the Horses. He has also definitely met someone else as he only spent 2EP on me last turn.
Jake will try to work his way around NW while trying not to get too bogged down in the forest.
Elwood continues to explore the NW having parted ways with Ginger's Scout:
He's going West through the mountains next, where I am speculating that he will find another player.
My current guess for map layout - based on greenline & Ginger locations compared with mine - is that we are on a N-S strip of land and are "zippered" up alternating sides. If that were the case, Elwood should find borders in a few turns, and then I need to prioritise meeting my direct Southern neighbour.
I dialed up BW next; currently showing 15t, but will go down once Haddock plants and I (presumably) get KTB from greenline - he most likely went straight for BW after AH and should be a couple of turns from finishing.
Settler finishes EOT and I've queued a second Worker behind. That should finish around the time the Horse is connected so Cod will then build a Chariot. Warrior will sit on the road between the two cities to play zone defense.

Whoa, nearly everyone has posted over the last few days!

greenline settled his second city this turn, so I guess it wasn't coming towards me. I'm ready to settle Haddock next turn and start improving the Horse:
I'm still not getting a KTB on BW, so neither of my (known) neighbours has located their Copper yet either. Everyone is running low on soldiers, so maybe I don't need to push out a Chariot straight away. No religions yet...

Haddock Settled. Check the ETA on the Worker and it's still 3t if Haddock takes the Cow now, so I do that until the Horses are ready. Monument due in 5t, growth in 6t - though the latter will go down once it switches to the Horses.
BW down to 10t with the trade route, but still no KTB. I saved some gold over the last turn of Mining which will see me thorough the research, I think.
Nothing much of note from either Jake or Elwood, but demos screen shows that someone revolted - would have to be either Superdeath or MJMD - money's on the latter as they spent much longer in-game, presumably re-jigging their dotmap for Copper.

Nice timing on the horse hookup, almost sounds like you've got cause to be paranoid :P

Heh.
Well this was the plan from the get-go with starting techs, etc. Based on demos though, it seems like everyone is going farmers gambit on this one so I'm still deciding whether I still need the Chariot next or if I'd be better just grabbing another Warrior for eventual MP.
I do have one question about the mod; with NoScore, it doesn't also remove the "religion has been founded in a distant land" messages does it? I'm kind-of surprised that no-one has grabbed one yet and want to be sure I'm not anticipating something that won't happen.
I was also wondering if any of the mod discussions have included splitting Slavery and forest chops onto different techs; BW always seems a bit "one right choice" with both.
Pending decisions:
1. what to build at Haddock after Monument. I want to explore the South, but do I send another Scout into the wilderness, or do I commission a Workboat that would eventually return to hook up the Fish?
2. tech path after BW. 2 routes currently in mind: Fishing-Pottery (since I have found my Fish and don't have an urgent need for Cottages/Granary, I may as well get the pre-req bonus on Pottery) or religion grab (Poly and then Masonry-Mono if miss Hinduism). Currently thinking the latter if no-one has grabbed Hinduism by the time I need to make the choice.
3. settling priorities. I'm trying to get as much info as possible before making any commitments, but it's feeling like the play is to try to make a grab NW for a Pigs/Silver site, which would need one city in between to stage from. I do need to loop Elwood around to unfog north of the Silver to see how Ginger could settle up, but it seems fairly deserty. The main alternative is to plant something across the Food Desert to secure an early border with greenline, however it's much harder to position a profitable linking city in that direction. Anyway, still a few turns of exploration before I have to make that decision.
