The Genghis Khan event is a killer - will spawn like a half dozen barb horse archers right on your border. Not uncommon to lose a city from that if it spawns on your back-lines. I would prefer events off for that reason, but huts I really don't care about. Fine with either way - I don't mind sunrise/whoever deciding on that really. Imagine they'll end up off, but I'd probably prefer to leave the creator some flexibility to be creative if they want.

Regarding moving to the different groups: Maybe it would be better to first find out how everyone views the points I listed. Might be better to change them then accordingly. For example, you, Jowy and Scooter all seem to be fine with huts (and events for you and Jowy) whereas TT and I are more on the side of having no huts and events.

- If Espionage turned on, Spy missions etc. are allowed or do we want to have only passive spying (no spies outside own cultural borders, so no possibility for any spy missions, but espionage still there for research visibility etc.)?

Currently: 1 only passive spying (Serdoa)

Yeah I'd also prefer no passive spying. There's a few other things that we can determine in our small groups AFTER the groups are locked in and set. For instance:

-Map trading
-In-game contact

Those can wait though, just to cut down on confusion on how fast this thread is flying .

@spies, passive spying sounds good. Anyway there's probably more rules that we need to discuss, but let's first get the map settings and pools confirmed.

This is fine. If I end up in a group where there's no clear preference on something I'm ok with letting the map-maker decide.

For those that are requesting no passive spying does that mean you want active spying? or you want espionage completely removed from the game via the ingame option (thus doubling the amount of culture required to pop borders)?

I just made a dumb typing mistake. What I meant was passive ONLY - no spies allowed, but leaving espionage on.

well if i had to vote (and as i said, none of these are a deal-breaker), i'd prefer

no tech trading
no events
no huts
passive spying only
balanced strategic resources (e.g. no ivory or ivory for everyone, comparable metals/horses within range, etc)

The groups are fine with me.

I guess this answer doesn't decide a whole lot... but consider me in favor of leaving our fate in the mapmaker's hands.
