He was hiding in the fog so the boat was just out of range. I think.

I presume he wanted to capture the city, and it's easier to say in hindsight, but it looks like it would have been the better option (although I'm not sure what's in the city that might make it worth keeping).

Looking at the screenshots from Tatan's thread it seems to me that his galleys and triremes were located 1 SE from Aren before the war. With 2 movement the closest he could get them would be on the hill were he is standing now. I am not sure, but it seems like this would be the case. If he had been able to I'm certain he would have attacked the city with only a warrior in it and raze it. He stated in his thread that he hoped to raze at least 2 cities (instead of keeping them).

Ah yes, see that now.

Not cutting the road when retreating may have cost Serdoa dearly. Of course, Tatan may have had workers on hand to rebuild it, so maybe it didn't matter.

Also, Tatan seems to be sharing an awful lot of free info with Cyneheard.

Were I Adlain I would banghead over Tatans diplomacy.
The later will see the errors of his way when CH starts to conquer his lands.

Apropos CH: I wonder if taking TT's religion might not turn out as mistake. I doubt that Meatbalz will sent any Hindu-shrine income to CH once he conquers Sumeria.

Haha. Good point! He'll also be in danger of having his main opponent gaining control of the papacy - an opponent who's given no guarantees with regard to AP resolutions.

I'm finding it amusing that the thing everyone's complaining about (the iron distribution) is actually part of what's making this such an interesting game (for this lurker at least)! smile

Also - why do Tatan & Twinkletoes seem so convinced that Iron was traded for nothing? I mean, it's "nothing" in the in game mechanics, but surely they can see that there are loads of things that might be agreed between two parties that wouldn't show up in game? If I was either of them I'd be wondering what the deal was, not just fussing about freebies wink

Tatan perhaps because he had practically given up the second Iron for nothing.

I actually agree... I kind of like the design...

Are we going to run a spread at this stage on Tatan RIP (sorry Tatan if you're reading this, but your diplo is sucky, and you've completely misread Cyneheard, who was always your real enemy). I reckon if Serdoa can put up any sort of defence then around t.105 for Cyneheard to mop him up.

What's worse about Tatan is that Adlain has been egging him on almost instead of reigning him in and giving alternatives. He just declared war on Meatbalz during a hot one with Serdoa, and Adlain didn't blink an eye.
