Here are your starting positions. Please let me know how you want to position your leaders:

Gandhi of France - Dazed and Scooter
Pacal of India - Oledavy and Shoot
Genghis Khan of Rome - WK and Ilios

Plako, these aren't our civs. Are they just generic units to show us our starting position or did you mix up screenshots?

Interesting. I like the variety in the starts! My gut says that the leaders have to be, in order:

1. Gandhi/France - tons of food there - great people like crazy.

2. Pacal/India - forests to chop, also river for cottages

3. Genghis/Rome - Production heavy start.

It almost seems TOO obvious to me, so I'm curious what the others think.

Place-holders until we tell him who is where.

I coudl see an argument for switching Gahndi and Pacal. Both have lots of food. It's a question if you want the Financial civ doing cottages on floodplains instead of grasslands. The nice thing about start one is that it's food heavy and has production which will be nice for someone not focusing on science.

Notice on the mini map that the civs are in a triangle. First off, that blows my map theory out of the water bang

Second, the civ in Carthage's place is likely on the frontlines, since it is closest to the center of the map and the other teams have also likely been placed in alternating triangles.

Oledavy, that's a valid point. Alternating triangles would make sense. It's no guarantee, but it's a possibility for sure that we need to consider.

Also, we need to settle on a tech choice. Essentially, it comes down to a rush for Music or Bureaucracy, I think. Who has an opinion?

Yeah, it crossed my mind... My thinking is that start #2 has the most forests, and India + forests to chop = happiness. And honestly, with THAT many floodplains, you can easily work a couple cottages and still manage to work specialists too (or rather, farm some and cottage some - working farms while rushing a GP and cottages otherwise). Remember, Gandhi is still going to need to be a "techer" (Rome will be the sole funder) - so cottages are still a priority for Phi.

Music, bulb bureaucracy with a GM from Gandhi (produces 812 beakers on Quick Speed if I recall correctly).

Scooter, I agree, I think. But wanted to explore other options.
