Pacal of the Indians: How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Fast Worker

Alright, here's some screenshots of the cities. Both workers on forests are chopping (the one by my capital has 1t left and the one north of Pata just moved there). The worker on the corn will move 1NW next turn to time the two chops for pata to come in on the same turn.

Lastly, the standoff up north. My archer will be back in time if he moves his archer to my capital (and I already have a warrior out too).

Well damn, the micro plan called for building a warrior in the capital this turn to grow it. I screwed up and didn't change off a settler and didn't notice until after hitting enter. I'll have to go and rework my micro plan now to account for that. Oh well was going to have to adjust it anyway for bureau I guess...

Interesting, on the replayed turn I got a random hinduism spread in the capital that I didn't get the first time. Thanks, RNG! (I wonder if anyone will notice the difference in demogs the first time and think I played differently)

I thought I had taken a screenshot of my cities after ending turn, but it looks like I forgot. I'll take one next turn then. Long story short, capital is at size 2 working a sheep and rice and about to receive a chop into a partially built settler. Pata is at size 4, working crabs, corn, 3f lake, and coast and going to two pop whip a settler next turn having this turn gotten two chops into it. Once those two settlers are out I revolt into bureau.

For some reason I can't attach my new micro plan that takes account for my previous screw up and bureau switch to the forum right now, so I'll have to do that later.

Or, just saw this:

Apparently I won't be uploading a new micro sheet. Guess I'll just have to not miss my turns then =) (Dazed or WK, or anyone else really, if you want it on the small chance I could miss a turn, I could obviously email it to you)

Forget the religion spread, they'll be more likely to notice the fact you didn't grow last time yet did grow this time. I know that's what you intended to do last time and I doubt anyone will bring it up (given what we've just been through) but I thought I'd just point that out so your aware of it.

Anyway, free religion spread is always nice. Now if only it could spread over to Rome...

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have switched into bureau ASAP, but bureau & IMP & chops is too tempting. smile

The intending to grow was actually the turn before what we reloaded to...did I actually just mess up off my micro plan a second time? smoke

Looking at what I had written down, yes I did, although the mess up isn't actually that terrible micro wise (on further reflection should have actually done it the first time, I think I just didn't see that the rice finished the farm in time to work it and grow the pop in 1 turn). Long story short, I didn't actually mean to play differently but it works out alright that I did I guess.

So, the first settler was completed in Pata last turn and the second will be completed in the capital at the end of the next turn. That means we need to decide where to settle! First, screenshots:

My initial thoughts for the first two cities are at the sign "potential city" and the city SW of the corn that is east of Pata. That western city will be an absolute production monster with all of those grass hills and the iron (and the food to work them all by farming the flatland) while the eastern city simply seems the best spot to send the settler out of pata at this point. Any other spots I should be considering that you guys see?

I agree with your picks, both look solid. I think we should try to settle that gold ASAP with our 5th city. Since we have stone we should consider making a run for the Hanging Gardens.

Ok, so both settlers are now out. I realized that with the overflow from the Pata settler whip I could finish a worker in one turn if I switched from the lake to the copper (got me another hammer from Exp bonus) so I did that. At end of the turn (t98) now have two settlers out and five workers with my cities at 2 and 3 pop. I will grow those cities a bit (building most likely a missionary in pata and an archer for cheap HR happiness in the capital) with the intention of most likely whipping out either a settler or some more workers (likely a mix of the two). Chops in the new cities will likely go into workers (as with a granary already in the city I don't have a huge need for improvements beyond something to pop borders).

I may decide to run the culture slider to pop the borders...haven't decided yet. That would allow me to send the missionary pata produces to Dazed or WK instead of having to use it on my own cities, which is obviously nice.

While the two settlers are in transit I will be revolting to Bureau next turn.

WK, I am going to be out of town, although at this point it looks like only Sunday and Monday. Can you cover for me (and for dazed until he's back)? I'll post whenever I am back to turn playing as the end date is a bit fuzzy at this point.

Anyhow, first for the lurkers, here are some new screenshots:

Both of those were settled t100.

WK, since I don't expect to miss more than one turn, here's what to do next turn (t102):

The two workers in the west finish the plantation.

Two workers by the capital finish the rice farm, switch Bombay to work it.

I do not have any strong opinions on what the capital should be building right now. I want something that allows it to grow, but was torn between a library (since it will be working a lot of bureau boosted cottages soon), a forge and warriors for cheap HR happiness while I can still build them. Anyone have any thoughts? Also, WK, if you feel strongly about building something else feel free to change that.

Switch Agra to work a coast. The worker obviously farms.

Turn the culture slider to 100% to get both Agra and the western city to pop their borders in one turn (this is why I have Agra switching to a coast -- to do it in one turn).

Send the archer currently in Pata over to Agra. Do what you feel is best with the warrior to the capital's SW as it obviously depends on what China's scout does there. I think that should cover it.

Note: I have purposefully micro'd Pata off of the copper mine so that it can whip two pop instead of one pop next turn.

-------------

If by chance I happen to miss two turns, my plan for the next turn is for the two western workers to build the second plantation. The two workers by the capital will start cottaging riversides there to grow the capital onto -- one finishes the cottage on the "1t cottage" sign and the other can start the cottage 1N of that tile. Whip the worker in pata (that worker I plan to have go improve the grass hill of pata most likely). Agra switches to the clams I believe (I don't think the corn farm is done yet, obviously if it is work that).

Finally, we need to decide whether we want to go for HG or not now I think. If we want to, the overflow from Pata's two pop whip should go into a missionary to get the OR bonus in Agra I think. If not I think the overflow should go either into a worker, settler, or forge. Thoughts?
