WW8: Madness in Outer Space (game thread - players only)

Why did you not vote for novice who had already a vote if you think him SCUM?

Because I'm getting stronger vibes from Winston than Novice.

So, 11 players, one of whom might be mod-killed.

With 3 scum that gives us 2 mislynches, 1 mislynch if a villager is mod-killed.
With 2 scum we have 3 mislynches, 2 mislynches if a villager is mod-killed.

I guess we're looking at 2 scum then.

Not sure what my point is. Maybe my point is that those two scum are probably not too keen to be associated with each other.
I have to run.

Ah, the old Triple Vote OMGUS. Nice move. Didn't see that one coming. lol

Lewwyn Wrote:Pretty sure that sticking to anyone way of voting is a bad idea. Just because I suspect people for their one vote away from the group, like your initial vote, like Rowain said, it doesn't work if you suspect everyone who votes for a single person. Thus you don't vote that way, right away. You wait and see what simmers. See what scummy vegetables pop to the surface.

Stating that you're going to see certain behaviour as scummy in the future is rather counter-productive, though, isn't it?

Indeed!

Who knows what I'm actually looking for in the future or right now? It's a bit like sonar.

Well he has still 72 hours to make his saving post.
But if he does not check in during the next 48 hours we should vote him off. Better to mislynch an inactive player than to lose someone to a modkill.

novice

- defending others on Day 1
- coming up with several "mechanic" posts
- using one of those "mechanic" posts to implicitly defend himself

I think he did already what he wants us to think that scum would not do. Therefore I am voting for him. Maybe Lewwyn is right

I honestly have no idea what you're getting at Rowain. I think you're trying a little too hard, actually. As I said earlier, I find it either suspicious or weird to make any substantial accusations on day one, barring anything highly suspicious such as yelling that you're a wolf.

Still, I will attempt to explain my highly thought out posts so far:
1) I make a light-hearted post suggesting that we keep shifting blame and see who hangs. Part joke, part serious. My point was that we'll likely pick someone at random anyway, I elaborated on that later on. Sue me for trying to be a little bit funny at the same time.

2) novice suggests that my ideas are as horrible in the two past games (granted, I haven't had a lot of luck yet with the wolf catching). I throw a vote back on him for fun, for calling me hare-brained.

3) Big conspiracy theories start.

I don't know what this says about anyone's possible guilt or innocence, but I'm not impressed with the reasoning. I've had a bad habit previously of voting for those I thought were using flawed logic, reasoning that either they were wolves or less useful villagers. In just about all cases, they were just bad villagers.

novice is not a bad guess, as it does in fact look like he was buddying up a little (even if it was by insulting my skills). Especially if he doesn't a history of suggesting someone is innocent early on. Either that, or he's just observing that I'm playing like I usually do (which is not really a reliable indicator of guilt, though). I suppose it's pretty unfair to novice to suspect him based on him suggesting I'm innocent, but WW doesn't have to be fair smile Last game I almost got lynched for tactically buddying up with someone, let's see what happens in a game where I make an effort not to make friends.

But as stated previously, I think we're mostly just tossing a d11 on day 1 and hoping it ends up 1, 2 or 3. Doesn't mean we shouldn't try to pick up on leads, but let's not blow them out of proportion.

If you know what I mean.

I do have a history of suggesting people are innocent.

Yes, I made mechanics posts - anything to keep the thread alive. If I were a wolf I wouldn't need to post no content posts, I could just refrain from posting and blend right in.
I have to run.

Are you nervous already Catwalk? Do you fear that your SCUMiness has already shown through? alright

Don't worry you only have one vote on you.

I wonder what our American friends (who should be awake now) have to say smile.
