There's definitely ice down there.

Ok yeah, we could do worker first, but teching Mining -> BW means the worker would sit for about 6 turns which isn't worth it. WB first it is.
FYI - phone thing probably isn't going to work so you can go ahead and login and end turn if you haven't done so already.
Ok about our land... 3N is ocean which is kind of what I expected. Now, 1W of that is NOT ocean which is a tile we were unsure about. Also, 1 tile north of THAT is also clearly land, so... it's quite possible that we have land up north. We certainly have room for a city up there to get that crabs that's out of reach of our capital's BFC. So, our warrior could continue going southeast or he could turn around and explore north. I tend to think he should just go southeast though and let the capital border pop in 5T tell us more.
Also note: the tile 3W of us is land which is another thing we did not expect. So overall, we have more landbridge possibilities than before so that's a good sign. We're obviously near the south pole, so we need to REALLY cross our fingers that the north landbridge works out. So to recap, the grid looks like this with L = land, O = ocean (or lake), C = capital, and ? is mystery: ??L???? ?OLOOOO OLLLOOO OLOLLOO LLLCLLO OLOOLLO OOOOLLL OOOOLLL So there's 3 "bridge" possibilities (north, west, southeast) and we need to hope at least one of them are not dead ends. ![]() Overall with the sight of pigs and the possibility of 3 land bridges, the turn went pretty well. Life's still going to suck if it ends up being 3 dead ends, but overall I'm more optimistic than I was before. Things to Determine (I mentioned some of these by chat but no idea if you saw them) 1. Scouting priority: Could turn the warrior around and head north, but I'm thinking head southeast for a few turns. Border pop in 5T will tell us a LOT more, so I'm good with using the border pop to scout the rest. The argument to turning around and heading north is that the north is non-ice so we hope there's land up there. So basically, SE with warrior or north? I favor SE. 2. Land tiles: Hover over score and it'l tell you that you control X/Y land tiles. If you get me that number, I'll roll the B&S map variations and that should tell me if we're playing on Normal, Massive, or Snaky continents. I'm expecting Normal, but Snaky would be good news and mean our start is pretty typical.
FYI, Krill has played two turns and still has not settled. Hopefully that means his land sucks and doesn't mean he's moving towards an incredible site that he noticed.
I suck at PB. My laptop's "mouse" keys stick sometimes and I moved south instead of south east. In the long run it might not matter, but no new vision this turn.
