I'm thinking. Just got the opportunity to see the thread so I need a bit of time.

Liz of India was Spullla's pick in PB2 right? They won that game so it's not that bad. Maybe an Oracle -> Metal Casting -> Great Engineer -> Some other wonder could be in order, right? :neenernee

One of the big advantages of Liz is the possibility of an incredibly fast academy. Is our planned capital spot good enough to make it worthy?

I think I'll vote for Sury, but I could hear some arguments for the Liz voters.

By the way, here's the example that the link plako posted about Borda count has:

Liz of India was Spullla's pick in PB2 right? They won that game so it's not that bad.

[SALES PITCH]In PB2, Spulla did pretty much nothing with PHI *except* a fast early Academy. Also nospace was Sury of India in PBEM17 against what I would argue is stronger overall competition and they had the game won by turn 50 . The strategy they employed is probably not replicable, however we can still do some pretty cool things. Also from PBEM17, I was Elizabeth (albeit not of India) and had some really awesome micro help from Krill et. al. I don't think we could have done any better than we did, but it still wasn't nearly enough to keep up.

I would have voted for Mansa Musa over Sury I think, but with him gone the remaining traits that pair with FIN are either too slow (PHI, ORG) or not good enough to replace CRE (IMP). I consider FIN slightly better than EXP, but CRE much better than IMP, PHI, or ORG.[/SALES PITCH]

yeah Mansa would have been my preferred choice but with the other top FIN leaders gone Sury seems like the best bet.
