I just figured that since it's a small mistake and the fixed save was sent within a minute or so it wouldn't be an issue. If it is an issue though it's not a big deal to me. If you want to ask in the lurker thread or make your own judgement I'm fine with that.

I don't think it's a problem in this circumstance, but I am not the expert on what is and isn't allowed.
Merovech's Mapmaking Guidelines:
0. Player Requests: The player's requests take precedence, even if they contradict the following guidelines.

1. Balance: The map must be balanced, both in regards to land quality and availability and in regards to special civilization features. A map may be wonderfully unique and surprising, but, if it is unbalanced, the game will suffer and the player's enjoyment will not be as high as it could be.

2. Identity and Enjoyment: The map should be interesting to play at all levels, from city placement and management to the border-created interactions between civilizations, and should include varied terrain. Flavor should enhance the inherent pleasure resulting from the underlying tile arrangements. The map should not be exceedingly lush, but it is better to err on the lush side than on the poor side when placing terrain.

3. Feel (Avoiding Gimmicks): The map should not be overwhelmed or dominated by the mapmaker's flavor. Embellishment of the map through the use of special improvements, barbarian units, and abnormal terrain can enhance the identity and enjoyment of the map, but should take a backseat to the more normal aspects of the map. The game should usually not revolve around the flavor, but merely be accented by it.

4. Realism: Where possible, the terrain of the map should be realistic. Jungles on desert tiles, or even next to desert tiles, should therefore have a very specific reason for existing. Rivers should run downhill or across level ground into bodies of water. Irrigated terrain should have a higher grassland to plains ratio than dry terrain. Mountain chains should cast rain shadows. Islands, mountains, and peninsulas should follow logical plate tectonics.

In an ironic twist of fate my second save didn't work and Elimist used the original anyway :P

If you replay a turn, you have to delete the original save first. Otherwise, the replayed save will crash the game. This is also a problem with the second turn of the game, since by default both of the first two turns have the same name.

Yeah I found that out :P. I could have asked him to use a third save (one with the fix and that worked) but it's not a large enough issue to be worth wasting time over. Anyway I got T4, moved my units a bit, fixed the tile micro on my first try this time, and the good news is I didn't lose a turn on agriculture, so I still get it in 7 turns (same time as worker.)

Also, I've been having some thoughts about tech plans and I think I'm going to skip calender and grab it after mysticism. Agrarianism isn't actually that good until I have specialist slots or new cities, so I'd rather get faster God King. So I think I'm going to go Agriculture->Mysticism as my first techs. I'm also thinking of using my first Great Sage to bulb KotE.

One cheesy move I could do is to go Agriculture->Mysticism->Hunting->WotF. The religion doesn't actually interest me that strongly, but denying the shrine to the elves would be kind of nice. It would give me access to Fawns if I wanted, although they won't be terribly useful considering I probably won't be attacking any cities for a while (their major benefit over Hunters.)

More economically I could just go Agriculture->Mysticism->Calender->Education->Code of Laws for very fast Aristograrianism. I would probably civic swap into God King, then into Agrarianism/Vassalage, and then finally out of God King and into Aristocracy. That would give me plenty of time to build my Elder Council, Mage Guild, settlers, and adepts using god king. After that I would probably want some combination of Hunting, Animal Husbandry, Mining, and Festivals

Someone is sitting at 4000 soldier points, so they must have lost some of their units. That's got to suck - I haven't even seen any barbarians or animals yet at all.

maybe their scout died. I'd consider saving him (within borders) until we can at least upgrade him into a Hunter.

I made contact with Decius in the northeast. I haven't seen his city yet, just his upgraded scout.

After looking at the demographics he still has all of his units, has a higher crop yield than me, and a lower manufacturing yield than me. It looks like he's down 1 food/hammer on me total, but I didn't put a graph up to my computer so that might be incorrect.
