[SPOILERS] B4ndit's thread (Darius of Ottomans)

What's the status after the attack?
Reply

I have forgotten to send peace offer to CH after my turn, but when I loaded the save next turn I was welcomed by his peace proposal (he was giving me back Harena Desert). I have agreed for it.

I don't have time to make full status report, but situation doesn't seem to be terrible. I'm 4th in score, 3rd in GNP (oO), 2nd in soldier, 1st in production. Fortunately I haven't whipped a single time in my cities so they are pretty strong (for couple of turns they are at happiness cap).

I will have two settlers ready in 3-4 turns. I was planning to settle first one on the hill when I razed CH's city and immediately chop walls there and put some strong Axeman defense forces there. Hopefully CH won't attack me in 10 turns (he is in worse economic situation then me base on the charts) and we will be able to rebuild. Second settler I would like to send somewhere west from my capital. What do you think? (I will try to post screenshots later, but no promise... I will have busy weekend again and maybe I won't be able to play turn until Sunday evening).

I take CH's peace offer as a sign that he sincerely wants to maintain peace from now on. There's no telling if this skirmish was beneficial for him or not, but you've made a compelling argument that he has no interest in keeping it up against you.

I think settling E of the rice to the west might be your best bet. Gives you a coastal city that can work the lake seafood tile with a lighthouse eventually, and it gets a shared food resource to start out on. You don't get the other seafood right away, but weak seafood isn't that impressive anyway. Also, the filler city east of the capital looked quite decent.

CH will resettle razed city next turn frown

Here are my propositions for settling (settling order indicated by number). I have two settlers ready. I can:

1. settle two cities west, later settle two cities south
2. settle two cities south, later two cities west
3. settle one city west and one city south

At the moment I'm thinking about third option. Settling one city west ("CITY 1") and one south ("CITY 1(b)"). Both cities would have lots of food resources that could be shared in the future and it would be nice to "reserve" them now. Once I will reserve as much territory as possible I can plant fillers.
