Random blizzard spawned on the same tile as Acheron's city, the exact turn the Amurites cast their world spell. Not sure if it's a coincidence, don't remember seeing that before. For a short while the tiles around the city were snow, but most of it turned back to the usual terrain after a few turns. I don't think it's to do with the Illians, since the effect was confined to just this city. Any ideas what could have caused this?
Any good resources for learning ffh2?

Is the tile beneath his city snow?

The Snowfall (Ice III) spell converts the nine tiles around the caster to snow for 3-8 turns, and has a 2% chance of spawning a blizzard in each tile. The Greater Snowfall spell (only castable by the Auric Ulvin unit) converts 25 tiles to snow for 6-17 turns, and has a 10% chance of spawning a blizzard in each tile. Must have been cast by some AI in the city I guess. Thought maybe it was an event or something. Speaking of Blizzards, are they permanent terrain features once they spawn, or is there a way to dissipate them?
How does the Ring of Carcer work? I believe I need a level 15 unit? But does this unit break the Ring, or is it swapped for the trapped Birgit? I just found the Ring and I have a level 14 Gilden Silveric, so I am thinking of trying to push him for a bit more XP.

You walk your level 15 unit onto the tile, and you get a free Brigit, and you don't lose your own unit (actually what happens is that it kills the barb Brigit and a Brigit tagged with your civ is spawned, but mechanics don't really matter). Be careful with her, as she's no XP and when you get her it'll be late enough that she could die easily enough.

On the other hand, she's a permanently immortal unit (not just the Immortal promotion, which is lost after one use), so losing a combat just means teleporting to the capital to heal.
Thanks for the info, Brian and DaveV!
Another question: what is the logic for how ravenous werewolves search for something to kill? My Duin is creating lots of them (war with the Calabim), but almost all of them are just wandering around without attacking anything even though quite a few Calabim cities and stacks exist within 6-10 tiles. Is their movement purely random, or do they "know" where to find a target? Also, can they trigger a war by attacking units from someone I am not currently at war with? There is a Clan axeman moving around the area, and I wasn't planning on fighting Jonas and his crew...for at least another 10 turns or so. ![]()
Not sure if you'd say it's a "bug" exactly, but one of my enraged dudes decided to attack Acheron. He's on the same tile that's defended by a bunch of other units. Each turn I get a "unit too afraid to attack", and I get back control of the unit... but it's still enraged, and the following turn it moves back and tries (and fails) to attack again. Seems this could be an endless cycle until I either kill Acheron or leave the unit alone to die.
