The situation has stabilised a bit. My garrissons are decent and I have a hammer stack of camels and cats again. TBS and OT4E is fighting a war against each other through me as I give them both open borders. May they exhaust each other completely. The latest news in the war is that OT4e burned TBS:s huge capital with the mausolleum which makes me feel a bit better about losing my cap to his coastal raiding. OT4E continues to impress me with his play, unorthodox, aggressive and effective. Just the neighbour you do not want to have in a corner position only bordering you. In retrospect I should have focused more on him and less on TBS as OT4E needed to attack me more than TBS did. TBS was much thinner spread than OT4E because of his other front and was lagging in mil tech when I did by build up of camels. That the two of them is in the two top positions is what gives me this lease on life as any of them pushing into me heavily risk his stacks being attacked by the other. If they get a peace treaty I am likely to be attacked by both.
Still, my graphs look terrible. When I lost half my cities, including my great engineer, my academy and my national epic in the attack I went from first to last in many of them but now I have at least stopped falling in most metrics =). I still do not have OT4E:s graph and I do not feel like spendng money on espionage against an organized leader. I'm not any turns closer to rifles than before the attack as it hurt my science so bad =(. Without the island cities I do not have good trade routes. Maybe I should just abandon mercantilism and GP:s until later.
