I've virtually sure it will upgrade in the queue in between turns to an impi (with the higher cost) if you do that, but it's been a while.

The most general rule is that units are obsolete when all their possible upgrades are available (warrior -> spear, warrior -> axe), so this is why warriors can still be built with copper until you have hunting.

I'm not sure what happens if you cancel the warrior build after building the road that hooks up copper, and then start an impi, whether you get the hammers from the warrior back!

so since that whole fiasco with the "double move" stuff involved me, i wanted to bring up this: i read everything, and was going to just accept the 10 turn peace treaty. then he sent the other pm.. so i ended up logging in and hitting the ceasefire, Which enabled me to move onto the same tile as him. However, i also ended the turn.. i in my haste ( and because tomorrow is going to be a busy day at work ) moved/did everything else for the next turn except the potential new-doublemove warrior situation.. Should i log back in and move the warrior? or wait for him to play? does it matter? Ugg.

Since you're at peace now, if me I'd say it doesn't matter. The least likely to create drama would be to either play after him or accept wasting a warrior move. Maybe consider agreeing to a consistent peace time turn order, just to remove future drama?

Turn 40-


Sent my first impi towards Magic. It is now surrounded by 2 barb warriors, promoted to shock. 2nd impi is going to scout around till the settler completes, and then escort. First impi's job is to scare/intimidate/cause mischief mischief 

We are currently #1 in food/power. mfg will go up eventually. When rome plays this turn, i will likely login and find out where they moved their warrior to, if we can still see it, GREAT. if not, keep careful track of the 10 turn peace treaty. He is ahead of us in EP 12/4. we are ahead of magic in EP spending. Magic and Rome have not yet met, although im real hopeful that rome expands in magic's direction, gotta slow down pro-inca  lol

turn 41/42 ill post some screenshots later if people want, but i discovered a quecha heading in our direction with an impi, which i backed up a tile with to avoid being seen. My guess is one of the following, 1. tallish scout ( like what im doing ) 2. escorting a settler. 3. eating barbarians for exp?  Him being pro/exp inca, i suspect he could have a settler out already specially cuz im about 3 turns from popping mine out. I looked into the math of how long it would actually take to get that 3rd city settler to the "pinkdot" site, and.... its like turn 50 city 3. F that. ill poke around with the impis see if i can slow him down, and just settle the "city 4" spot with the settler. Need to get the snowball moving.... moar settlers, moar ikhandas, moar blood! Im going to play to the traits whip  this being the perfect game to do so in, spam settlers, and kill someone, w/o having vets who can smell it coming a mile away.. mischief

Rome is moving his warrior towards my border, he can get there in roughly 4 more turns, and i have 7 turns left on peace treaty. Being that i found romes cap, im sending the warrior to dog his the whole way incase he tries something.


In other other news, i posted about there being 2 barb warriors around the impi and was hoping to come back to 2 dead barbs and a promoted impi... well neither attacked..... NEVER had that happen. So i chased one down at 96.4 odds or so, and.... ALMOST DIED. wtf are the odds. now i have a str2shock impi, and a promo impi about 2 turns from entering Magic's borders. Now, if he has an axe, i can still likely run around  as im kinda doubtful he has much for roads.. and i should be able to raze a city. It may make him a mortal enemy, but man... i got agg/cha you dont want me going whole hog on ya  nod ill just raze a city and 10turn peace outta there. if he doesnt accept i dont mind. shades

Turn 43- First blood!

At better than 80% odds, my fearless impi attacked and razed the offending green city. That ought to slow down inca some hammer maybe i can go for his 2nd city? ill offer peace next turn depending on how he moves things, as he cant be too far from building plenty of axes. I would like to snipe that worker of his... would go nicely with the settler i just 2 pop whipped. With that overflow i "should" be able to 1 turn a workboat as i finish fishing EOT which i can use as food for the cap while the new city uses the corn. Rome has moved back towards his culture vs heading towards mine, so i decided to continue scouting with the western warrior.

Now, i know what magic might be thinking.. Either, im going to ruin zulu's game. Or how am i going to get back in this. He of course, being pro-exp inca is NOT out of the game, but i did slow him down some even if he does end up taking out one of my impi's. It would obviously hurt if he went for the "ruin zulu's game" option... but im doubtful that he would cause much damage. I can make better units, i can support more units, and im going to be up at least 1 city on him. If i can REX like i want to, my only issue will be having a defendable front vs rome. Or at least convince rome that there are better targets than myself, which shouldnt be hard to do. Sailing is next after fishing for what i assume is a island to the north. 2c trade routes is $$$. After that, beelining to iron-working - currency - calendar is the plan so far.

Masterjason, if it helps you ( incase you get real busy ) if you want to make a list of say, 10-15+ city names so i can just grab one from the list. Or if you are available, in 2-3 more turns ill need another city named. Any thoughts?

turn 45-

2 pop whipped a settler 2 turns ago and overflowed into a workboat, that will connect next turn. Magic accepted peace. After the granary at Superman, i will be making an axe to go with the impis to take the barb city and to keep magic from expanding closer than where he settled. ALL of that land r belong to me. On the rome side of things, i plan on a settler heading to the "roadblock" city site somewhere around turn 60-70 and it will be pushing walls/culture/defense and will be the anti-rome fort.

I have plans to go wide on cities in the hopes that rome doesnt run early/rushed UU at me.. using agg/ikhandas i should be able to expand to 8+ cities by.... idk, turn 75? and not be totally hosed in maintenance. Prime targets to go for ( sadly at the same time ) is the east barb city + a border city ( on a hill ) and a rush to get to the gems in the middle. Those will be mine, or there will be blood.  I dont likely need the happy compared to other civs, but denying it to others is Huge.

What i saw as an island seems to be true, its got a crab for food but it will bring much needed 2c trade to the empire. One thing i have noticed is that commordore either randomized a map, looked it over for balance'ish or he specifically made the map as non-lush as you can get w/o it being all plains. Which i like. If there are too much food, imo, squeezing in good city sites that allow fillers to be decent is huge. In this game, i think that having 6 great cities is going to be more powerful than 10 eh cities. ( rough superdeath math ) However.. i plan on having ALL of the good city sites. Tech path is sailing - AH- Ironworking or calendar -currency. Subject to change of course.

Ill join the 3 city club next turn when i plant TO BE DECIDED ( masterjason!! ) from what i can see from civstats, it looks like magic-shallow-OT4E/cour are the only ones to have settled a 3rd city. With magic/shallow being on the same turn. Now im sure that Magic will likely hate my guts, but i had to use early impi advantage to slow down the mega-fast expansion of his. Specially when you look at all the good non-jungled land he has!!!!!!!!!!! Where the fuck is my land that looks like that??
