We are at size 3. Only 3 civs have hit pop 3. We have graphs on Donovan Zoi and we're behind in commerce ahead in food and hammers.
WB finishes next turn. We need to get luck across the ocean. We finally found a new food resource, but its a plains sheep past the PH. I can't get pics to work.
Wolfeater also ate another wolf. at .6 health now.

More food is nice, but this spot is too far away to matter right now. Besides, it’s fifteen tiles away from the capital, so chances are good that someone else is closer to it anyway.
Lewwyn, what is your philosophy in regards to injured scouts? Let them heal, or press on and hope not to run into any animals? In this case, I feel like taking it cautiously is best. We probably won’t have another scout over here for a long time, and I would like to make sure to contact and locate anyone who can contest the sheep, crabs, and fish.
In regards to our southern neighbor and colonization, Donovan Zoi has invested all of his espionage points into us, so it looks like he does not have another close neighbor. I do not like that; settling cities on his landmass would be a lot easier if he has another immediate border to worry about. As is, I think that the workboat scout needs to focus on finding out how far away Donovan Zoi is from the area immediately across from our capital as soon as it is done locating a third city spot. There is obviously a big difference in how much military we need to send to secure the colony depending on how far away Earth (the Arabrian capital) is.
Lewwyn, judging by the fact that you have started working the plains forest, I take it that you have decided on the warrior into settler path. Is that right? If so, I would like to point out that the warrior has just enough time to scout the “late city” tile before going northwest to garrison the second city, wherever we put it. I want to see if there are any islands accessible in that direction, and sending the warrior means the workboat doesn’t need to do it.

I want to at least rest the scout on a forest tile rather than that hill if we rest him. I'm not opposed to resting him.
Yes warrior first, so I worked the PF. I agree about late city scouting before heading north

Wolf Eater is up to 4 wolf's eaten:
New land!
I want a second workboat out and I want to send it to explore West. Can we get circumnav??
Also I just need to see if there's something west here as well...
I don't think copper changes our dotmap. But it does make that Moai city more feasible and appealing. Maybe city #4 even without food. Just needs a quick lighthouse.
I still favor Site C for city 2.

Congratulations, Wolfeater! But could you try to bring home some of that wolf meat to share with the rest of us Depression Islanders next time? We don’t have much food, you know. Thanks.
The copper is certainly not in an ideal location for us. Settling our second city to work the copper in the first ring is out of the question due to the lack of food. I do think that settling a city that obtains it in the second ring should be considered as an option, though. It would be settled on the grassland hill west of the sheep; we can call it D. That said, I still have not made up my mind which of the four proposed spots I like best. I guess I am leaning towards D and B because they have more new land tiles in their second rings and more good tiles of their own in their first rings than the other two. I’m sorry to say that C is probably my least favorite, since it combines the problem of few good tiles to start and fewer good land tiles after a border expansion. We should try to have a Discord chat tomorrow about this (and other things).
I hope we don’t need to settle the lake area as our fourth city, but I like your thinking about turning it into a Moai site eventually. Moai lighthouse lakes are always so nice. However, I would put the city one tile north of your sign. It loses four water tiles compared to the sign spot, so Moai has less maximum potential, but it brings a plains forest hill into the BFC, which means Moai will be built much faster.
In regards to scouting and colonization, I think that you should send the workboat north to further examine the little islands that it and our warrior have discovered next. If there are acceptable city locations there, I would prefer to settle our first one or two colonies on those islands instead of on Donavan’s continent so that we can back up our cities by him with metal units and/or skirmishers as soon as they are founded. After the workboat does that, I favor the workboat backtracking past Thomas Dolby to scout the western coast of Donovanland and then probably improving a tile. Circumnavigation would be great, but our position is so precarious and so dependent on lightning-fast colonization that I’m not sure we can afford to send thirty hammers sailing away into the fog for a very long-term investment.

I didn't move the settler onto the forest with the warrior, too big a risk.
3 options:
Settle in place at A.
Wait to see if Bear kills warrior, move settler to planned site C
Wait to see if Bear kills warrior, move settler to F
I have 1 turn of road into both the plains and the sheep so that we have options for both C and F. I still prefer C if the warrior wins. But if it loses, we should settle F. Or we just settle A and the warrior doesn't fight...
Thoughts? I ended turn, but I can still log in and settle if we decide to do that before the last person plays.

I agree with holding the settler back. Giving the bear a chance to kill him is much too risky.
I think that we should leave the settler where you moved him until we see how the combat between the bear and the warrior resolves. You convinced me on Discord that site C is the best spot, and I am willing to delay establishing our second city for a turn to claim that site instead of site A. But if the warrior loses, then we would need to wait until Turn 37 for the next warrior to arrive so we could settle site C. I think that four turns of our settler sitting idle is too long, so if the warrior does lose, then I think we will need to choose between site A and site D instead. By site F you mean one west of the sheep, right? That's what I mean by site D. The site F I mentioned in Discord is one southwest of the sheep, which I thought we both agreed was bad.
Hopefully we don’t need to choose. Our position is bad enough without barbarian bears causing problems.

I should have started a 2nd workboat 2t ago, but I started a settler first. But the work boat is going to be more beneficial earlier so I've now swapped over to a WB. AH, I was busy and rushed it didn't think enough. And I moved the first workboat away, I could have netted the crab earlier. Feeling depressed with sloppy play.
I did settle our 2nd city on C, Stars.
