RBPB4 [SPOILERS] - De Gaulle of the Egyptians

Lord Parkin Wrote:GES, it would be good if you could confirm this one way or the other. I can't for the life of me see any reason why two nations shouldn't be able to declare war on the same turn, as long as they both move in the first 6 hours of the previous turn and then both declare war at the start of the following turn.

No rules against a double declaration. Both teams must abide by the six hour rule and then declare and take the same half of the turn timer.

Thanks GES, I figured that was probably the case. I've passed this information on to Mackoti. smile

Response from Mackoti:

Hi,
I want a Nap unltil turn 240 lets say so i can rebuild and everithing and even a forever NAP if its alright with you.Why i want to declare faster? Like i said for the element of surprize i will rize my army in less then 6 turns(havy well prepared whiping) and some upgrades ye spending money. So its iportant for me to know because i have to chois right now to bulid farmas for fastre growth and more people to whip or cotages.
so lets say turn 180 and see when we are near by if we have to delay a litle bit or go faster what you thing about that?
regards,
Mackoti
This generally seems good. Not sure what to think about the "forever NAP" - I mean, it seems good for us on the surface, but I don't know whether it'd end up being worthless once the end of the game actually neared. I can't imagine Mackoti as the type of guy to just sit by and let an opponent finish ahead of him without an attempt to thwart them. Maybe we'll just agree for now and keep a very wary eye on him later on in the future.

As for the war, we'd realistically probably end up delaying beyond turn 180, but from the sounds of it Mackoti should be okay with that. There's not exactly a lot he could do to stop us delaying if we need to, anyway. wink

Indeed... a 2 vs 1 won't work particularly well without good communication. smile

LP, sorry but can you just remind me about your current NAPs?

Rego - T170
Moogle - T185
Nakor - T200
Plako - T200
Luddite - T210
Mackoti - likely T220+

Only folks we don't have NAPs with are WK and Adlain (both no threat), and Locke (who wants to avoid NAPs with all the large nations, which may or may not work out in his favour).

Hmm, interesting development just now...

Nakor and Rego seem to be considering a war against Plako in the near-ish future. Nakor was surprisingly open about it, pretty much telling me straight out in chat that he had a NAP with Plako until T165 and was considering action after then. Rego was more cagey when I questioned him, as expected, but it seems he's in on it and might be looking to enlist Locke too (good luck with that, I say wink ). He mentioned wanting to wait for Knights, so that might take a bit longer than T165.

Still too early to be sure of anything, so I'll just wait and see if anything further develops over the next few turns. But I thought it was interesting news anyway, even if nothing ends up happening in the long run. smile

Nakor just put 16 EP's into us this turn... seems a bit of an aggressive move. Not quite sure why he did it, as I thought we'd agreed not to put espionage into one another. I'll hit back with my own EP's (20+) for now to bring back demographics and keep pace with him until he stops. I've sent a quick message to see what's up, and see if we can avoid a pointless "EP cold war" scenario in the near future.

Hopefully it's nothing, but we'll see.

Okay, time for some pictures I think. smile

Puma's borders will expand into Kish next turn. It's growing to work all the river cottages it can, with the occasional whip.

Lynx is whipping out Christian buildings after just getting Christianity.

We got a Buddhism autospread in Serval this turn! Nice. We'll be spreading Christianity there next turn, and will whip out some Christian buildings followed by a Buddhist missionary for the capital. With Buddhism and Islam (in a few turns), our capital will potentially be able to gain another 50% research from Monasteries. Effectively a second Academy! (At least until Scientific Method. wink )

Acinonyx will whip a Market next turn, then will probably build a Settler for the spot 3S-1W of Puma (to lock off the border there).

Pantherinae is finishing off the Parthenon... only 4 turns to go until the sweet +50% GPP goodness. (We hope.) smile

Leopardus has just about finished its whips for the present. Mainly focussing on cultural buildings there to ensure Rego doesn't steal our Fish.

Felis just finished a Granary and is now at work on a Forge. Soon it'll be onto the Christian buildings once we get the religion spread there.

The capital is 4 turns from finishing Sankore - the displayed time is incorrect due to working 4 great people this turn to force out our Great Person next turn. 83% odds of a Prophet this time, so let's hope I don't jinx it again. lol

Onca is 3 turns from the Mausoleum. I'll probably reinforce that city after it (hopefully) completes the wonder just to ensure Rego doesn't get any bright ideas.

Tigris is finishing up a Settler (possibly for the Cow-Clam spot down south), then will probably build a Christian missionary, then onto a Courthouse and Library.

Tigrinus was just founded last turn, and fixes up our final border city with Rego. Standard Forge/Granary/Christian buildings queue there.

Magadan is working on a Market, then it'll probably be time for an Aqueduct (as it's our city closest to the health cap)... or possibly units.

Evermore is building a Worker, although I'm tossing up about changing this to a Settler. We have 18 Workers at present for 22 cities, but many of those cities are close to (or already) fully improved. Either way, a Settler is probably due after the Worker.

Concolor (the other border city with Luddite) is chopping out a bunch of key buildings. I'll be spreading Christianity there shortly so it can build the Christian buildings too.

Jubatus has pretty much finished chopping/whipping its key buildings, so will probably grow for a while as it slow-builds less important stuff. Just before it completed a Settler for the Fish-Copper site to the north, which will be founded next turn.

Felidae is on missionary duty for the moment. After the current missionary, I might consider an Aqueduct there as it's growing towards unhealthiness fairly fast right now.

Leptailurus is another city working on whipping all the basics like Christian buildings. Not much more to say there.

Pardus is whipping out the Christian buildings after finally getting Christianity spread to it. After that, it'll probably be back to unit duty.

Pardalis just built a Work Boat for the new border city with Plako, and will now finish off its Lighthouse and Courthouse.

Prionailurus finally has its Rice and Gems improved. Its borders will be expanding next turn, so we'll be hooking up all that nice Spice shortly. We'll want to grow to at least size 5 here pronto, and larger once all that nasty jungle has been cleared.

Leo is working on a Market after producing a Settler/missionary pair for the new border city with Plako. Growing this city as quickly as I can to work all the new cottages. Might consider switching it over to unit production soon.

Silvestris is the new border city with Plako. We'll quickly push back Plako's borders from that Fish, and then that city should get up and running through whips in short order.

It's always nice to be #1 in all the key demographics again. I'm actually surprised our GNP is still well out in front despite researching a tech with absolutely no prerequisite bonus at our breakeven rate. smile

The power graph seems somewhat interesting... definitely looks like Plako's been having some trouble recently. I've lost Nakor's graphs this turn, but will regain them next turn.
