RBPB4 Lurker Thread

I don't think that Adlain should be getting direct guidance ("rearrange city X to these tiles", etc.), but helpful questions that point him in the right direction would really help ("why are you not working X tile, why are you running a citizen, why are you cities spread so far apart"). That lets him know that something is amiss with his play, without telling him exactly how to fix it. Could also be useful to gently guide him toward some useful resources on whipping and city micro at Civfanatics or whatever.

Sigh. I came to this thread to ask whether my post in Adlain's thread is ok. After now reading the other posts here, maybe it's not? Please let me know your thoughts so i can edit it if appropriate.

You just gave him so gameplay tips, I don't see a problem. The guy could really use a dedlurker actually...

I'm OK with what you put Kyan.

Lord Parkin Wrote:It's quite frustrating when the last thing anyone in this game needs is for Plako to have a complete walkover campaign and gain up to 7 new cities - as well as multiple future sites - for next to nothing. Yet all these fundamental mistakes from Greece already seem to be on the way to handing Plako all that territory on a platter. Not to sound mean, but perhaps it would be better for game balance if someone with more tactical knowledge was on board that civ to help out right now. Maybe even just a combat savvy dedlurker alongside WK to assist him? Dunno... maybe he already has someone, I'm not sure.

Is it really worse than the fact that all LP's neighbors have for whatever reason given him tons of NAPs and favorable land deals? As Plako noted, there's still lots of empty land between LP and Luddite because Luddite's off doing other stuff. I just don't quite follow LP's complaint here, as out of all of the "Big 3" (LP, Plako, Locke), Plako has the least favorable neighbor situation in my opinion.

Also, I've gotten the impression that WK is quite a solid player if I'm not mistaken. He's made some mistakes here, but I think he's done a solid job given his position.

If plako wasn't such a good player, I think WK could have had a real chance here. (And of course if WK had been part if the game from the beginning.) He's done okay considering his position when he joined.

WK's economic management has been solid. A-/B+ range, considering how it was when he started.

His tactical skills leave something to be desired, however. I'd say a gentleman's C there.

His tactical moves arent that great because I dont think he is that interested in the game anymore. I think his biggest mistake was not initiating diplo with plako right of the start.

Also cant wait to see who will settle that peninsula between Locke and Gaspar. In Lockes latest pic you can see he already has a unit and a city spot marked on it, and a settler is done in 1 in a near city. Cant really tell how fast Nakor can settle it.

What do you guys think about Luddite decision on not to accept peace? The big question is how long will it take for him to eliminate or cripple Mackoti.
